Cultural Variability in America

There is a difference between Buddhist and Christian with respect to religious beliefs that is detaching them from each other. The attitude towards Buddhist in America is not acceptable because of the religious differences. The difficulties faced by Western Buddhist Sangha’s as they had faced racism in the society (McNichol, p.1).  Now a days the cultural variability had penetrated the whole society and it is now common to communicate with the individual belong to variable culture and religion.

The cultural variability is all over the world when I visited San Jose where around 1.25 population belonged to Buddhist community. The cities in United States consist of Buddhist community at present including “San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle and Denver. Just one Midwestern (Oklahoma City, coming in seventh) and one East Coast city Raleigh, North Carolina, at number 10” these were the cities that included Buddhist community and the Christianity difference is identified with Buddhism when I met the individual with diversified community and I have explored cultural variability in American population.

The Buddhist living in America have cultural variability because they are refugee and they have a bilingual experience. The individual belong to Buddhist community were identified as highly educated. The religious difference between the individuals living in America had faced racism issues because of cultural variability (Truong, p.15). The caste and cultural differences there are refugee camps in America that practice beliefs of Buddhism and Christianity and the perspective regarding the religious belief is variable due to which their acceptance for each other is a matter of concern for respecting the beliefs and values with religious point of views.

My First Meeting with Diversified Population

There were Western Buddhist Sangha’s and the refugees needed the resources for living and practices their religion freely in the America. The racism is highly important in dealing with the societal issues that are violating the norms of the society. When I first met the diversified populations consist of many nationalities in America. It was noted that the refugees living in camps in America and the homeless population is needed to be addressed in the state. Their voices are unheard because they are Buddhist and belongs to a different region and culture. The racial difference have created barriers to practice humanity in the society.

The cultural variably was explored by the diversified population where I met a Buddhist child that provide me information regarding their cultural beliefs and practices. The inclusive community of Sangha the first part consist of “Thich Nhat Hanh” and people talk about things that they appreciate among Buddhist community members in the ceremony. There were diversified population discussing their ceremonies and the Europe American considered the heterosexual couple as ugly in their culture (Chaves, 2009). However, in Buddhism the couple was not considered as ugly and they accepted the couple among the Sangha’s community members as example of good relationships.

It was identified that there is cultural variability for accepting the gay and lesbian’s relationships in the society. There are couples and their children are grown up but they didn’t get societal acceptance. The girl communicating with me was daughter of gay and she had a relationship with men and she have expressed her relationship with the issues associated with the gay parents. The event of this new practice in Buddhism accepted the new changes in the society that is highly essential from the religious point of view because the gay and lesbians issues would be addressed in terms of addressing their children issues while living in the society.

Learned from the diversified population

I have learned that The Buddhist gathering was however very different from the Christianity in terms of accepting the societal issues because they accept changes in the society and cultural variability. The child that was communicating was taking about racism and indifference that is ruling in the society against religions because the beliefs and practices are different.

The experience while taking with Buddhist person and dealing with Buddhist community was highly memorable. Their beliefs system and in Christianity is different because they are open minded towards social changes and cultural variably. The issues of racism was not a matter of concern for them because they belief that everybody has right to practice their region freely. While communicating with child I have learned that cultural variability has developed fear and insecurity among the citizens. They are facing life hardships due to cultural variability.

Likable Experience from diversified population

The experience while communicating with child was likable because their community accept the changes in the society. The child was living as a refugee and there is difference in refugee and immigrants; the child was a refugee as she do not know what to do in life. She was facing racism in the society and suffering from life hardships. She had not chosen place for them but she was living as a refugee to protect citizens.

I agree with the child that cultural and language barrier is highly important in addressing the issues associated with life. Living a life of a refugee is not an easy one with racism difference. The Buddhist accept the additional relationship of gay and lesbians that are existed in society and their children are sufferers. The Buddhist refugees have a wish that they can settle down in the state as they can practices their region and rituals freely with no restrictions.

Correlation with Course Material

The communication between the individuals is based on understanding of the view point. However, the course study provided an information regarding the multi-cultural issues associated in the class study and dealing with the mind-set of students is highly essential for strengthen the peer communication.

Every culture and society has its own norms with respect to their identity and beliefs system that they practice in life. The rituals and ceremony of the Buddhist described before provided an information that is not easy to understand and accept their view point. I have learned from this that the cultural impact on the communication and understanding of the mind-set of the individual.

Implications of a multicultural world

There are implications of the multi-cultural world racism and religious difference existed in society. In universities where students are studying and in the workplace the multi-cultural difference existed in the society.  There are physical health ailments when there is diversified society and mental health illness penetrated the society.

According to Troung et.al, (2014), cultural competencies are important in addressing the physical illness and diseases associated with minority groups like Buddhist (Troung, p.15). The health workers, nurses, community members understand the issues associated with individuals that have cultural barriers and they have diseases illness because of they lived a contemporary life.

The mental health of refugees is a matter of concern while living in the country. The child communication provided an information regarding the fear, insecure associated with the individual with Buddhism (Littleford, p.1). The physical and mental health issues were associated with the multicultural world in universities, schools and workplace that is taken into consideration to protect the rights for minorities that are living in the society.

Conclusion

It was concluded that there is a difference between rituals and beliefs of Christianity and Buddhism in practicing the rights of the individual. The Christianity and Buddhist have religious difference they have cultural rights and ceremonies difference that is highly essential of the acceptability of the individuals. It is necessary to address the issues with racism and religious difference because the rights of the citizens is necessary when an individual is working as an immigrant or living as a refugee in the state.
