Conflict of Wildlife and Human

I slected the word "green" as my beginning point because green is a main color of the world, related to the nature. Nature is all around us, and this is what makes Earth different from the rest of the planets. For the majority of us, humans, it shows harmony and balance. Unfortunately, since the demise of dinosaurs, which happened the last 65 million years, now we face a worldwide mass extermination of wildlife. And this one is the first one, with our fingerprints on it. Several themes I began looking into at the beginning include natural habitat, human-wildlife conflict, sustainability and natural world destruction by human. After I started my analysis, I decided to further investigate human-wildlife conflict and how humans are responsible for natural habitat loss and degradation. The principal reasons for this are for example agriculture and changes to freshwater systems like oil spillages on the oceans. The conflict between animals and people is part of the major intimidations to the sustained survival of various creatures in distinct regions of the globe as well as to local population. The reason for the conflict is because the human populations are expanding while the natural habitats shrink making wild animal and human to fight for food and living space (Angelici, 2016, p. 27). The impacts of the conflict are huge since people lose their livestock, crops, property and even lives while endangered species are often killed to avert future conflicts. The conflict management interventions previously comprised translocation, lethal control, preservation of endangered creatures and regulation of human population (Angelici, 2016, p. 79). However, the current management strategies try to utilize scientific study for better control outcomes such as reducing interaction and behavior modification. Aspect of the ConceptThe aspect of the human-wildlife conflict is the human destroy nature since human beings are the major cause of the issue due to the increased number which makes them fight for the available resources. According to the research conducted last year, human beings have destroyed almost the tenth remaining wilderness in the world for the past twenty-five years and none will be left within the century if similar trends go on (Vaughan, 2016). Besides, deforestation and widespread species extinction, unprecedented carbon dioxide levels and elevated levels of phosphorous and nitrogen in the sea due to fertilizer utilization are placing humankind above limit that are said to be secure for living in the globe (Chen, 2015 n.p).Human beings cause water pollution and pollutants do not identify international boundaries since chemicals utilized can affect animals thousand kilometers away. The chemicals used in agriculture can cause fertility issues and mutations which lead to the extinction of particular species. Also, the destruction of nature leads to climate causing drought, flooding, and reduced life expectancy. Moreover, habitat loss is another issue related to the destruction of nature which poses a great threat to creatures. The world’s swamps, lakes, plains, forests and other habitats are disappearing as they are harvested for people consumption and cleared for housing, agriculture, pipelines, roads, housing and various hallmarks of industrial growth (Vaughan, 2016 n.p). Climate changes have caused warming since studies indicate that the earth is warming faster when compare the last 10000 years (Vaughan, 2016 n.p). The global warming due to human emissions of greenhouse gasses has caused adjustments climatic conditions that surpass movement capabilities and altered competitive associations. SourcesThe major sources of the research that I used are the internet, magazines, and library. The library contains various books and articles that offer an insight on human-wildlife conflict as well as garments and effects of human destroying nature. Besides, the library contains internet services where I was able to search my concept. The magazines contain various types of fashion designs used by various companies and designers. Moreover, the magazines provide information related to fashion through images of clothes and their structure. Lastly, the internet is a broad source of information regarding my concept since it provides recent data from current studies. Image of the ConceptThe image related to the key concept is water pollution specifically oil spillage on the Pacific Ocean. Oil spill refers to the liberation of liquid petroleum into the marine regions as result of human activities. The spillage is caused by crude oil from tankers, drilling rigs, offshore platforms and spill of refined petroleum (Angelici, 2016, p. 91). The oil spills are harmful to fish, shellfish, marine mammals and birds. The oil denatures the insulating capability of fur-bearing mammals and repellency of water in bird’s feathers which exposes them to harsh elements. The loss of insulating and water repelling ability make marine creatures to die due to hypothermia. Fishes exposed to marine pollution experience enlarged livers, reduced growth, alteration in respiration and heart rates, reproduction impairment and fin erosion (Angelici, 2016, p. 109). The Pacific Ocean oil spillage is most of the times underreported since people have not attention and are not aware of the likely effects. Additionally, the spillages can have catastrophic effects on the society; environmentally, socially and economically. The recovery and cleanup from the oil spill are not simple and depends on various factors including water temperatures and type of oil. GarmentDungarees made from the organic cotton were the garment that I selected because of its sustainability fashion. The garment is made of natural soft fabrics that are comfortable on the skin of the baby. The clothes can be used for special occasions or every day and are easy and comfortable to wear (Ke, 2017 n.p). During the summer, the pants are perfect for wearing around the house. The summer dungarees are made of airy and light cotton which makes them perfect to craw. A baby needs the freedom to crawl and roll around hence the pants are designed in a way that the baby can roll without becoming wet. Besides, the clothes have fitted snaps, zippers and nickel-free buttons for easy dressing (Ke, 2017 n.p). The organic cotton is non-toxic, soft and breathable which is significant for the sensitive skin of children. The sustainable fashion of the organic dungarees was the reason why it was related to my research and my research as evolved through it. The research inspired me to think about sustainability in my designs and being more aware how production in the fashion industry is affecting the nature. Moreover, the research provided an insight that people need to find new means of obtaining basic needs as well as transporting oil to avoid endangering some species. More studies are required to identify relevant interventions that can help to solve the conflict between human beings and wildlife. The destruction of nature causes disastrous impacts to the society including global warming and pollution as well as loss of life.ReferencesAngelici, F.M., 2016.
