The idea of earning a certificate
The idea that I might earn a certificate for my participation was the aspect of this course that most appealed to me. The certificate will be an important component of my resume, as it will boost my chances of landing lucrative work prospects. But I was apprehensive about the length of the study period. The training lasted only four weeks, which, in my opinion, was insufficient time to thoroughly teach the ideas. The course covered topics of computer networking, which is a wide subject that requires students to consult a variety of course materials.
Suggesting more meeting sessions
My biggest issue is the time allotted to the course. To address these concerns, I suggest that the 30-minute meetings be increased from 4 to 8, once a week. The increase in the number of meetings will give the course instructors and learners sufficient time to go through the content exhaustively. As a result, the trainees will be better exposed to the details of the course than they would have with the previous format.
Amendments for proper management of participation
To meet the course objectives, it is essential to make amendments to ensure proper management of the learners' participation. As an instructor, I would ensure that exams are not given too much attention at the expense of meeting the other objectives. Exams tend to expose the learners to unnecessary pressure. Changing the way learners approach exams will make them pay attention to meet the course objectives and not just intending to pass their exams. I would also recommend that learners pay attention to course materials such as videos that will explain the concepts appropriately.
Improving the online course design
As an online course designer, I like the current format and condition of the platform. However, I will make instant adjustments when the need arises to enhance the user experience and make it more interactive. I will also be keen to ensure the site is regularly updated with sufficient course materials for learners.
