The Importance of Business Management


The method of regulating and handling objects or individuals is known as business management. A company administration includes all those in positions of authority who make business decisions and manage day-to-day activities. As all tasks are performed, and embraced processes of performing activities include the management team, management is a central role in the performance of an organization.

The Role of the Chief Executive Officer


The chief executive officer is the firm's highest-ranking administrator, in charge of overseeing all corporate operations. Chief executive officers make major strategic decisions and oversee all business personnel and operations. A chief executive officer frequently serves as a liaison between the company and the board of directors. The success of Apple Inc. has been attributed to its chief executive officers as they made the companies decisions, managed the employees and created products that were certain to meet consumer needs and studied market structures dividing them into segments for proper evaluations (Nahavandi, 2016).

Steve Jobs


The late Steve Jobs was Apple's chief executive officer before Timothy Cook. Steve was a patient guy who never hurried things that required more time to work through. He was known to over prepare for Apple's presentations to make sure he had every concept and that is a virtue of good leadership (Williams, 2014).

Steve Jobs Leadership Styles


Focus. Steve was a focused man and his known to have avoided all manner of distractions including family visiting his office during official hours. Steve also loved using whiteboards as he believed they engendered focus. Steve also advises Larry who was to take over Google leadership that Focus was the main ideology behind business success (Williams, 2014).

Simplification. Steve's ability on focus was backed up by his ability to simplify factors and remove all unnecessary components by zeroing in on their essence. He would seek up to a hundred suggestions on doing something and then reduce them to ten and finally to three that were the most effective (Williams, 2014).

Responsibility. Steve believed that one should be entirely responsible end-to-end for duties assigned, as a company chief executive officer he knew he had to oversee all activities to ascertain that all products produced are well designed to their customer needs. He always wanted to be involved in all company activities to the minimum levels in an organization (Williams, 2014).

Products before profits. Steve bothered less about profits made and focused much on looking into the quality of products and service offered by his company. He always advised that with quality products benefits will automatically come in as the more appealing a product would be to consumers, the high their demand hence profits. He always pushed for perfection at Apple (Williams, 2014).

Timothy Cook


Timothy Cook took over as Apple's chief executive officer after the death of Steve Jobs. He embraced leadership skills of his predecessor and tried to take up Apple to a whole new level regarding value and quality production (Richtel, Matt & Brian, 2014).

Timothy Cook Leadership Styles


Take risks. Timothy knows that risks could end up resulting in failure but without failures, there will be no possibility of success. Timothy ventures into challenging product line no matter how risky they are for when the outcome is positive; benefits are sweet (Richtel, Matt & Brian, 2014).

Diversity. Timothy believes that Apple being the lead of innovation requires several thoughts, for this, he listens to all those around him on possible ways of solving problems and moving ahead. Thomas believes in diversity of style and design in meeting different customer needs, and for this reason, he upholds diversity (Richtel, Matt & Brian, 2014).

Failure liability. Timothy believes that for a better change, one should take responsibility for his mistakes and correct it to avoid future similar errors. He hassles that to move forward one needs to accept and correct a mistake, and he goes ahead to criticize Job's leadership of lacking this virtue (Richtel, Matt & Brian, 2014).

In conclusion, all these leadership styles and skills portrayed by Apple's top management officials are seen to be efficient and productive in organizational management and business organizations should embrace them for their success.
