What does it mean to be human?

The Query of What it Means to be Human

The query of what it means to be human has the philosophy of a group of hostel rooms. This question aims to cast a wider net and make the college problem seem more significant. The topic compels us to consider an individual's existence and quality of life as it relates to ignoring problems. Playing video games, chatting on Facebook, and searching for the ideal Instagram filter are a few of these distractions. The primary response to this query may be Homo sapiens. They have two limbs, a brain that can process mathematical problems, two legs, and the ability to use a tablet. This answer, however, does not hold up for a lengthy period since a few years ago majority if the Americans and the Europeans considered that the people of Africa are less than human. In the current generation, most individuals act as if people living from different nations or even under different circumstances are less than the people. For instance, think about the sweatshops in the developing world. Don't most of us act as if these workers are not entirely human?<\/p>

"Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep"

Views at these hypothesize and issues that understanding, not the language or the number of legs they possess that is the key characteristic that determines humanity. So how far does this humanity spread? Does Rick remain to be human even after hating his electric sheep because he believes it can never feel some love for him? Even after he shows all the care for it? Humanity allows Rick to execute his work as the bounty hunter since he believes that the androids, just like his sheep, are incapable of having real human emotions and therefore they are not worthy of life in the society in which life appears to be the biggest deal. Rick continues to highlight that earlier on the omnivores, or the herbivores are the only individuals that possess the compassionate impulse and makes the empathy of human beings to allow humanity to survive (Wheale and Nigel 65). Rick is, therefore, appearing to be the most human character from "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep."

Rick, the Bounty Hunter in a Devastated World

Secondly, Rick, who is a bounty hunter also wakes up to the world that is thoroughly devastated by the nuclear war. From this world, humans ensure upkeep for the animals so as to prevent the mass destruction of most species where the androids are colonial slaves who go on to kill their masters and continue to flee so as to hide on earth. It is clear that just the another day in the lord's year that whoa, starts to feel close to the earth. It was not just the other day (Vint and Sherryl 24). When Rick gets to work, his boss Harry Bryant announces to him that Holden, who is also a bounty hunter was hurt during his daily hunting adventures of eight fugitive androids. Dave, however, managed to retire two of the androids before the third laser got to gun him in the back. He gets to the hospital because of the side effects of some excessive lasers. Deckard has to finish his job now.

The Humanity in Rick Deckard

The catch also demonstrates the humanity in Rick Deckard. From the catch, the androids appear to be a six Nexus model. It also makes the androids to be the most intelligent and advanced technology to have ever been created. Rick goes on to fly to the Rosen organization headquarters that is situated in Seattle so as to try the Voigt-Kampf test on the original Nexus, six model. In this group, Rick meets Rachael Rosen who assumes that she is an android despite Rachael attempting to trick into thinking that his test was weak sauce.

Rick's Encounter with Polokov and Luba Luft

Thirdly, we can see the human character from Rick when he hunts Polokov. Rick goes on to capture the Nexus six who get the drop on Holden. Polokov goes after him during that same period. From this confrontation, Rick is quick to manage shooting the Android dead. I think we should say that he glitches him with the bullet? Afterward, Rick goes after Luba Luft. He seems to be trying to give Luba the Voigt-Kampff test, but Luft decides to call the Police (Wheale and Nigel 112). From his thoughts, Rick assumes that going to work out will swell for him. He, however, realizes that the police station is the other trap. This is just the third trap that targets him and is set by Officer Garland. This realization helps us to suppose that Rick is sharp in his thoughts just as humans are sharp in thinking and making decisions (Vint and Sherryl 45). The other aspect that makes me think that Rick is the most human character is when he retires Garland with the help of a fellow bounty hunter referred to as Phil Resch. After retiring Garland, Rick escapes the android police station as a big boss. The two of them later catch up with Luft at the well-known Art Museum. The feelings of Rick for Luba Luft prevents him from introverting her, but Resch manages the job better.

Rick's Visit to the City

The other instance that proves the humanity of Rick is the visit to the city. From the city, Isidore and Pris appear to be having dinner with some two of the unexpected guests that are Irmgard Batty and Roy. The two of them get news about the escapees who are all dead. They, however, decide to hole up with Pris (Wheale and Nigel 54). Isidore is happy because he has some new roommates that he never cares that they are androids. Rick goes to his house where he gets a call from Bryant informing him about where he can find the last androids. Before he finishes his job, Rick meets up with Rachael, and the two go on having an affair that later goes horribly to the south where Racheal reveals that she only slept with him so as to cement the inability to the killer and retiring the androids. This is also an obvious factor that Rick is the best human character from the narration.

Rick's Understanding and Self-Centeredness

The understanding of Rick also proves about his unique human character from the other androids. Rick understandably ticks offs. He heads to the apartment building of Isidore where he retires the remaining some of the remaining three androids. From the switch-a-roo character, Isidore decides that she will move closer to other individuals. Rick, however, uses his understanding to take off for the wasteland that is referred to as Oregon so as to have an isolation from other androids. While in the desert, Rick finds a toad a living organism that every individual thought that it was extinct. Rick later drives home with some excitement (Wheale and Nigel 78). His wife, however, discovers that the toad is an electric animal. Rick, however, goes on to be with some disappointment. He is, however, willing to re-program himself through the use of the mood structures then takes tomorrow to rest. The unique human character of Rick is also identified through the self-centeredness personality of Rick. He thinks that taking care of the electric sheep is a demoralizing chore. He also does not mind about how the poor sheep feels when Rick shows his control panel to the neighbors. Rick is the only one who sees the depression of his wife, and this affects him severely. It is worth to realize that the lack of vitality by his wife means that she never supports him.

Rick's Desire for Financial Gains

Summing up, we can identify a unique human character from Rick in the situation where he considers the androids to be retiring so that he could get some financial gains. This reveals the intelligence of Rick. From the bowl, Rick appears to be calculating how he can earn enough money so that he can purchase a large animal and end up replacing the electric sheep. Human beings love money just as Rick does. He regularly checks his Sidney's and questions how many Andy's he could kill to make so X amount of dollars. He also tells everyone that they should major in the STEM grounds. The retiring idea of the androids does not bother Rick. From all these instances, we see that Rick lacks the responsiveness for the androids, his wife, and the electric sheep. We also see how the androids lack their empathy. Rick, however, appears to be a big hypocrite of all. He ends up punishing the androids due to lack of understanding especially when he is about the least categorical meat-sack on their planet. All these instances are an apparent fact that Rick is the most human character from "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep."
