The topic of immigration

The topic of immigration in the United States

The topic of immigration, particularly in the United States of America, seems to be one of the least studied ones. The immigration industry saw a lot of funding, which in turn had an impact on a number of groups, including international students and workers. As the current US president monitors the immigration pledges made during his campaign, the nation's immigration policies have become more active.

Effects of immigration laws on international students at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

At the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Karen keeps track of the effects of the present immigration laws and environmental responses. According to one of the immigration policy, it directly restricts accommodation or rather allowance of international students, especially from Muslim countries. Particularly, the Muslim countries include Somalia, Iran, Syria, and Libya among others. Besides the restriction of newcomers, the old students are to be subjected to the same rules if at all they visit the named nations and tries to come back. There was a meeting in the lecture hall of UWM in one afternoon with an average of 140 people, many being international students to discuss the immigration effects on international students (International Students at UWM On Edge About Trump's Travel Ban).

University officials' advice to students

From the article, the University officials such as Jenifer Zabel and Marija Gajdardziska-Josifovska advised students not make any travels to their motherland countries until more clarifications of their visas safety. Apart from traveling, they were also advised not to indulge in activities that could threaten the visas. Students requested to know if it was wise to participate on students protest against the travel ban which was planned to take place on the campus. An answer to the protest was heavily discouraged by school staffs. This shows that the states are in control and opposite reaction of the students might inverse the peace and advantage given to the alien students at the moment.

Family reunion at the U.S.-Mexico Border

Vanessa Yurkevich: "After 9 Years, Family Reunites At the U.S.-Mexico Border". CNNMoney. N.p., 2017. Web. 3 May 2017.

The author writes a joyful event of a Mexican lady known as Gabi, who lives in the United States and for the past nine years, she has not seen her family. The reunion took place at the Friendship Park located on the border between San Diego and Tijuana. It is a tradition conducted by the agency where this particular one of Gabi was the third one and only lasts for three minutes. Gabi's validity in the USA was due to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, and due to her status, she cannot leave the country (Yurkevich).

Enforcement of immigration laws at the US-Mexico border

Wendy Lee, a public affair officer, states that besides their work of enforcing immigration laws and protecting the US-Mexico border, they also give back to the community as much is given back. In other words, they value the immigrant's efforts in the state hence the family reunion chance. It is recorded that the friendship park is getting bigger by day as compared from the year 1971 and 2007. The friendship park was reinforced with metallic mesh in 2012. With the growth of this border wall, however, Morones declare that it has resulted in increased rates of death. Death rates have increased due to dangerous ventures used by immigrants to find their way into the USA. This shows that the bordering wall in Mexico has strongly limited the entry of immigrants in America.

Conclusion

In conclusion, both articles are seen to show the seriousness and increased restriction of entry in the American soil. The existing immigrants such as the students and the workers are vastly limited to make any trip out of the state to continue their stay. Once they make the trips, besides having previous documentation, their reentry will be hard especially those from Muslim states. The Mexican bordering wall is seen to have grown to make more restrictions on the immigrants.
