To be able to execute the GDD system, it is vital to assess one's own leadership abilities. It will be advantageous to develop a leadership philosophy, style, and method in order to produce leaders who are appropriate for GDD in the twenty-first century. When asked about their issues with leadership, the majority of the leaders admit to having one. Responsible managers must make time for staff to visit their offices and address any concerns with the management (Winston, & Patterson, 2006). Being vigilant does not imply that one is familiar with all aspects of the organization. To strengthen the organization, leaders must provide a good example for their followers and motivate them to work hard.In order to implement the GDD system, it is necessary to evaluate the leadership skills of GDD management. For that to happen, there is need to have an alignment of the Leadership theories , leadership styles sand leadership approaches have to be met in an y organization. If they are not meet as required, then there is bound to be irregularities in the leader organization leadership. The process is m not be complex but there has to be a certain criteria followed to reach the results. Developing an effective leadership style, leadership approach and leadership theory that will enable GDD create todays leaders. Leadership theory is the necessary for GDD. Through leadership theory, the GDD managers can influence, inspire and impact their employees as they try to reach their full potential. Effective leadership requires that the leader has the relevant skills and qualities needed to connect with people. Leadership theories have evolved over the years. Nowadays, leaders need to have an understanding of the needs of the people in the workplace, impact of the different leadership styles and how leadership is effective in different situations. Nowadays, leadership theories emphasize on the needs of the employees. Modern leaders having a clear understanding of the expectations of people who are involve in decision making process (Satel, 2014). Some of the leadership approaches are Traits approach whereby leaders are born and not made. Leadership consists of inherited qualities; functional approach where leadership can be learned. It emphasizes on responsibilities, accountabilities and functions of the leader. It also examines the ways in which the behaviours of the leader affect the group.

The relational theory is the effective theory that global delivery direct (GDD) can adopt in the 21st century. The 21st century GDD leader resembles the views of the relational theorists. The theorist view is that leadership is an ethical and relational process where people attempt to achieve positive change. Therefore, the GDD leader is expected to lead by general knowledge, motivation and by example (Wolf, 2009). Andrew rockfish and his co-workers are at the top of the leadership ladder. Therefore, it is their duty to guide their employees to ensure that the organization remains productive. Leaders must be ethical, purposeful, process oriented and empowering (Folkman, 2016). The relational theories would be an effective theory to use n GDD leadership. The reason is that when the leaders joining together to reach common goals, they motivate employees and thus helps leaders to build stronger teams. The leaders of the 21st century are equipped with alignment skills, collaborative skills and are a strong role model. There are different types of leadership styles. Employees will work well under a manager who has a specific leadership style. Leaders must be pace setters and set high performance for their team (Blanken, 2013).

The GDD equivalent for the leadership is the appropriate leadership theory. The leadership theory should be based on vision, planning and relationship with the employees. Moreover, there is need for trust, responsibility and process. The GDD leader of the 21st century needs to follow the relational leadership model. The relational leadership model involves the leader being empowering, inclusive, ethical and purposeful.



GDD needs to have a leadership approach that it follows. The leaders need to understand the entire task that is involved in leadership. Leadership approaches include servant leadership, transformational leadership, authentic leadership, and adaptive leadership. The leadership approach that is suitable for GDD is the functional approach. The functional leadership approach is appropriate for the company because it focuses on responsibilities, accountabilities and functions of leaders. It also focuses on functions of the group. It is clear that the behaviour of leaders has a great influence on the group.



The most appropriate leadership style for global delivery direct is visionary. The visionary style is suitable for an organization that wants a new direction (The wall street journal, ND). The goal of this leadership style is to move people towards shared visions. Stewardship leadership style ensures that the leaders embrace honesty and ethical behaviour when performing their duties.

Raynard is of the opinion that the 21st century leader needs to be practical, objective and fair. According to her, her leadership style is transactional. Hernandez, on the other hand, says a leader should have characteristic such as honesty, insightful, compassionate and flexible. He uses the incentive motivational technique to create followers. Hernandez considers himself as a lassie-faire leader. The leadership theory that he prefers is the contingency theory. Livingston views himself as a transformational leader. According to him, the relationship theory is the most effective in the 21st century. Coyote as a leader is flexible and is a people first person. She is of the opinion that leaders need to encourage their employees and consider their needs.

Given that GDD is looking for a leader who will be appropriate in the 21st century. A leader with a visionary leadership would be appropriate for the company. It will need a leader who has the functional approach to leadership. All the four candidates have different qualities and leadership style. However, the candidate who will fit in the role of a leader in GDD would be Livingston. Livingston will look for any opportunity that the organization needs and encourage his followers to work towards the available opportunities. In addition, Livingston gave a firm handshake which tells more about his confidence levels.
