The Seven/50 Plan: Addressing the Complex Challenges in Southern Florida
The seven/50 plan is a framework that gives the Southern Florida area the chance to concentrate on the important problems that transcend county lines, international boundaries, state boundaries, and city limits. The strategy focuses on important issues such as transportation, economic growth, energy, education, leadership, and food supply (Trias & Garcia-Zamor, 2015).
A Community-driven Development Approach
The seven/50 strategy also aims to see more wealthy and developed counties in the following fifty years. The Seven/50 development method was decided upon by the community, with input from local and national experts, civic and community leaders, and a sizable portion of the general public. It is a process that allows leaders and individuals to visualize about their anticipated future and decided how best to achieve the set goals and objectives. The seven/50 approach is being established to ensure a resilient and vibrant economy as well as regional collaboration in both the private and public sectors.
Creating Certainty for the Future
It serves as a background to provide an economical and healthy environment for businesses to create certainty for the future. The process identifies trends that allow businesses to be prepared and get more competitive. Moreover, the seven/50 approach has a set of future analyses, strategies, and recommendations provided as potential solutions to various challenges facing the business industry (“Transforming our world,” 2017). The local comprehensive initiative includes the plan of activities on how the governments function and respond to the different public and private enterprises. The ideas are implemented through capital enhancement programs and land development regulations. The plan also serves as an assurance to entrepreneurs about the quality of public serves and protection of both the public and private assets. Additionally, the local government's administrative and managerial remain influential in building and shaping the business environment. The seven/50 regional plan is particularly identified to improve business development in the Southern Florida countries.
Improving Infrastructure and Transportation
In relation to the high population growth, there is a regular increase in the expansion of infrastructures such as sewer plants, water, roadways, and recreation in the Southern Florida region. Mostly the land required for public infrastructure is often privately owned. As a result, the seven/50 strategy involves the eminent domain in protecting private properties. According to the seven/50 plan, it is through the order of the responsible governments to confirm that the effect of public uses on private property is minimized (Trias & Garcia-Zamor, 2015). Moreover, the government should ensure that whenever privately properties are negatively affected in an illegal way, the owners are timely compensated in a relatively manner.
Mobilizing Freight Mobility and Rail Passenger
On the other hand, the seven/50 strategy uses scenario planning and regional forums to develop policies and outlay schemes in establishing the regional vision for improving freight mobility and rail passenger. The plan has focused on transportation as a way of making the region an international center of trade. The initiative also includes a transportation system that will maintain economic competition by meeting the future and the current transportation needs for moving individuals and freights. The approach uses scenario planning, cross-acceptance procedure, and regional forums to ensure regional mobility and connectivity hence a positive impact on the business environment (Vizcardo, 2013). The Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), a funded transportation organization, has been made up to plan and implement transit projects and identify the challenges of transport maintenance and operation.

Every individual in the region, irrespective of age, ethnicity, sex, or disability, is being provided with education opportunities that assist them in acquiring skills and knowledge required to exploit and fully participate in society. Generally, education has led to a positive impact on the business environment considering the fact that individuals are being provided with a comprehensive understanding of topics involving business, marketing, economics, and finance.
International Trade and Economic Growth
Various key international results will arise as a result of the seven/50 strategy. Other countries will benefit from trading with the Southern Florida region as a result of its success in various industries. The trade will avail different varieties of products from various destinations. Generally, this will provide the various states with a wider collection of choices resulting in international growth. The international trade will promote efficiency in innovation and invention as states try to adopt different methods of production to reduce costs and remain competitive. Furthermore, the seven/50 strategy will set a good example for other countries (Trias & Garcia-Zamor, 2015). The economic, transport, housing, and education improvement in the Southern Florida region will attract more countries to implement different strategies for the growth and development of their economy. Additionally, the business competition from the region will challenge other countries to upgrade and become innovative.
Impact on the United States Free Market
The seven/50 will have a positive impact on the United States free market. Most properties in the US free market will be privately owned, and individuals will have the rights to protect their goods. For instance, as the owner of various properties in an industry, one will have the legal right to sell or retain their possessions, and in case they are negatively affected in an illegal way, they will have the right to be compensated. The seven/50 plan will give businesses the right to ownership (“Agenda 21,” 2002). In addition, considering the fact that the seven/50 strategy will provide a healthy business environment, entrepreneurs will be unrestricted from producing, selling, and purchasing products in a competitive market. As a result, the high competition will maintain low prices of goods and services. Generally, this will ensure that businesses provide goods and services in an efficient and effective way. On the other hand, businesses will improve and increase their profit margins. For instance, the improvement in transportation will reduce transport costs and delays, hence an increase in the profit margin.
Future Implications for the Business Environment
Some of the key future implications to the business environment include the low cost of production due to the efficient means of transport as well as affordable houses. The implementation of a plan like the seven/50 strategy will reduce the direct and indirect cost of production, hence an advantage to the entrepreneurs (Vizcardo, 2013). In addition, improved means of transport will physically enhance the connection between the entrepreneurs and the supply chain partners, including the clients and the suppliers, hence success in most organizations. Furthermore, the approach will provide a healthy and competitive business environment that will ensure economic development for the Southern Florida region. As a result, the future implication to the business environment will include low cost of production leading to high-profit margins. The seven/50 approach will also set a good example to other countries and improve international trade.
