Joining Global Curricular Organisations and Groups
Joining of global curricular organisations or groups is one of the goals that I am currently working on. By joining these organisations, I will have greater chance to know and socialize with other students in the same faculty but in different institutions which will further improve my academic progress and performance. Also, this will offer valuable opportunities for professional networking. Networking will further help me develop meaningful and strategic relationships as well as connections and eventually improve my job market and job search.
Lack of Professional Networks and Inbreeding of Knowledge and Skills
Failure to achieve this goal will limit my job market after completing my college due to lack of professional networks. Several researchers have shown that about eighty percent of jobs are never advertised but filled through various connections. Also, the failure will lead to inbreeding of knowledge and skills from the same institution due to limited interaction with different elites from other institutions. In trying to achieve this, I might encounter various challenges such as finance for registration and subscription. Time inadequacy may also be a major problem, for instance, the time taken to attend the curriculum conferences and professional events. Finally, demotivation may also be an obstacle towards achieving the goal.
Overcoming Obstacles and Seeking Support
In dealing with such obstacles, I will strategically plan with the limited time I have to ensure that some time is in place to join and participate in these curriculum organisations and groups. I'll achieve this by utilising any idle time and avoiding procrastination. In terms of resources, I will properly budget with the available finance I have and reduce my expenses and allocate some money for the organisations. Some individuals who may help me in achieving this goal are the parents by providing adequate finance and also career advisers to make me fully motivated the failure will lead to inbreeding of knowledge and skills from the same institution due to limited interaction with different elites from other institutions.
