The Challenging Plan Form

In essence, there are three forms of preparation that are used in meeting corporate objectives:

1. Political

2. Operational

3. Tactical

Strategic preparation:

Strategic preparation is considered to be the toughest of the three styles. Strategic strategies are the initiatives devised by the management of an organization to maximize growth and competitiveness, improve income, and create sales. In comparison, this form of preparation encourages the company's long-term priorities to be fulfilled and to find opportunities to contribute back to the society in which it works. It is also important to understand that each stage of the company needs multi-level participation in the strategic strategy. Effective strategic planning helps a business prepare a realistic mission and vision of its future, thereby maximizing its potential for growth (United States, 2009). In the same way, poor strategic plans will have an adverse effect on the business operations, weakening the company’s ability to expand and grow.

Impact on other types of planning:

Another aspect of strategic planning that makes it more difficult is its influence on the other types. Essentially, strategic plans are crucial to attaining tactical plans, which are, in turn, necessary to achieve operational planning. As such, ineffective strategic planning will have an impact on the entire organization. In most cases, the top-level managers are in charge of designing and executing strategic plans. In other situations, the CEOs or Presidents can engage departmental managements in the strategic planning process. Such schemes provide the basis and act as a framework for the other types of planning, which take place at the lower levels. Moreover, other plans developed in the other levels must align and be compatible with the objectives established by top-level management (Bouchard, D’Amours, Rönnqvist, Azouzi, & Gunn, 2017). Therefore, if the strategic plans are inefficient and lack clear direction, they will affect not only the operational and tactical processes but also the future of the business.
