Tests of Physical abilities

To ensure a proper assessment of the people who are qualified to do the job of a security officer, physical ability tests are required. The physical criteria for police officers vary depending on the state, and there are several tests that assist weed out weak people.
The Pursuit Run of 75 Yards
The evaluation will assist in meeting a foot pursuit's requirements. Running straight while sprinting around corners without running into any barriers is required to finish the 75-yard pursuit run. The test is finished in the two trials, and the best result is obtained if the runner avoids hitting the obstacles.
Push ups
The main objective of push ups for this job position is to help in assessing muscular endurance and strength. The security officers should have a good upper body strength that is enabled by push ups to help them in wrestling.

Sit ups

Just like the push ups, sit ups also help in evaluating a person’s core strength. The physical demands of the security officers are many but sometimes they spent a lot of time sitting down. Some of the officers also spent a lot of time standing with their heavy duty belts on. The sit ups would help to improve the long-term health of the police officers.

1.5 Mile Run

The mile run helps in assessing the aerobic capacity. The test seems to be simple but it is a requirement for the security officers where the weak can be weeded out from military services.

The score for the physical ability tests are presented in a table showing the points the participants score on push ups, sit ups, 1.5 mile run and 75 yard run. The applicants of the security officer job position are required to obtain a minimum of one point for the four tests not a zero.
