Studying Theories

The Role of Theories in Classroom Learning

Theories play an important role in ensuring that students understand the idea being addressed in the classroom. Theories provide a framework for explaining an event and forecasting the future based on facts gained from prior experiences. Philosophy in class aims to facilitate knowledge by providing an explanation that illuminates the topic under consideration. Theories boost students' academic knowledge and facilitate the process of applying concepts learnt in class. The public sphere hypothesis describes a social component in which people can influence political decisions by identifying concerns in society that require remedies. Theoretical learning helps people in the community to identify an issue and develop methods of solving the problem through pushing for political actions from the government.

Consistency and Reduced Contradictions

One of the reasons for studying theory is the consistency of information and reduced contradictions (Smith and Patricia 51). Doctrines taught in class present tested information that is not the result of opinions created by people. Therefore, the theories present facts to the students limiting any possible chance of contradiction from the assumptions. In the public sphere theory, the people understand the duties of the government to the population. For example, the method explains that the government should be in charge of societal issues such as unemployment and education of the people. With such information, the people can push for political actions without any fear of contradiction due to the clear outline of the functions of the government explained in theories. Theories enrich the population with information, which they can use to better their lives without fear of contradiction. Data presented in methods are valid and accurate.

Gaining Knowledge through Theoretical Learning

Theoretical learning allows the student to gain knowledge using the experience of other people. The theories taught in class offer comprehensive information on various topics. As such, the student gets the chance to improve the level of knowledge in his/her possession without personal experience. Theoretical leaning is a fast method of gaining education as compared to learning through practical experience. In public sphere theory, the society can use the knowledge gained in class to push for political action in issues facing the country. Without theoretical learning, it would necessitate the population to increase knowledge through experience making it impossible to meet the challenges and provide a viable solution to them. I study theory to improve my understanding in the society in a faster manner that does not necessitate learning from a personal experience (Dunlap 214).

The Voice of the Majority and Gaining Support

The public sphere theory outlines that the voice of the majority determines the attention an issue receives from the government. The state prioritizes the issues supported by the majority of the population and assumes the majority views represent the whole country. Studying theory allows a scholar to gain knowledge on how to talk to people and convince them to change their opinions and hold a similar perception to the speaker. Learning theory exposes the student to diverse knowledge on how to deal with the society especially in asking for their support in pushing for political actions. An election, which most countries use in choosing their leaders, is an example of a public sphere application where the voice of the majority determines the outcome. Therefore, learning theory equips me with the knowledge on how to interact with the people and gain their support in societal issues.

Preparing for Real World Challenges

Learning theory prepares the student for the future challenges offered by the real-world scenarios (Cohen 129). Most of the information gained through studying the theories is applicable in solving societal issues. The method equips the students with skills and prepares them for the challenges in real life. Theories are very consistent with the changing environment in the society. Any change triggers the formulation of other hypotheses that cover the new setting and problems in a changing society. By studying theory, I can improve my confidence in handling issues within the community and command the confidence of the people. The public sphere theory points out convincing many people as the first step towards calling for a political action. However, it is impossible for an individual to change the mentality of a crowd without confidence in responding to their concerns.

Gaining Confidence and Building Skills

More so, some of the people in the crowd are academically strong. Therefore, engaging such people requires extensive knowledge of the topic and a firm approach to the issue. Learning theory provides the confidence due to exposure to a high amount of information, which is necessary for building confidence. The consistencies guaranteed by the information presented in theories improve my confidence in studying theory. The data gives me the courage to tackle many issues and face a huge crowd in trying to convince them to take a similar stand as mine. As such, I can apply the skills gained from the theories and be in a position to use the information in a practical environment. The constant improvements of theories keep me updated with the latest methods for a more comfortable fitting into the challenging environment.

Application of Theories in Public Forums

Currently, many people use public forums for holding debates that seek to establish their stand and gather support from the population. Such shows are many in the media with different panels addressing different issues. Such speakers earn from sitting down and debating on the topics from the comfort of the studios. Therefore, the public sphere theory is exposing the population to new methods of earning a living without the traditional methods of engaging in physical work. Studying the theories improves my chances of securing employment with such panels (Bauer 7). The theories assist me in identifying the challenges that the people face and put me in a position to debate with those in support of the topic as well as those with contrary ideologies. The study of theories makes me knowledgeable since the information presented in the theories is in the form of a summary and shown in a method that is simple to understand and put into practice.

The Versatility of Theories

An individual theory has the potential to be applicable in many situations. Theories do not have a restriction to the specific unit of study or topic of discussion. Learning the methods gives the student the ability to generate ideas while considering a few ideas and expounding on them. With the knowledge, it is easier for a student t conduct further research into the topic while using the theories as the foundation for the discussions. As much as politics focus on the voice of the majority, the foundation created by the theories is strong enough for a political aspirant to gain the support of the people for the legislative actions. Theories provide a firm basis for future discussions through the ability to discuss many issues using few points as taught by the theories. As a student, I study theory to create an academic foundation that assists me in tackling problems unrelated to the theories discussed.

The Richness of Information in Theories

Theories are very rich in the supply of information to the students (Kache 191). The theories rely on consistent data with proven facts making the delivery of information very simple. The accuracy of the theories is due to the experience of the writers, which took an extensive period to compile and present. Therefore, the student can rely on the information on the validity of the source. Theories make it easy for the students to gain a huge amount of information within a short time due to the presentation of information in a clear format that is easy to understand. The theories are easy to understand and applicable to a number of situations. Students competent in the theories have the confidence to display their skills in public and gain political support. In connection to public sphere theory, studying theories give the learners confidence to discuss issues in public and an academic background to conduct comprehensive research on a topic. These benefits are the reasons I study the theory and the same reasons for other people to do the same.

The Academic Journey and Practical Application

As I make the last steps towards completion of my degree, the academic journey has been very interesting. Every day marked the opportunity to gain new skills from the set of qualified tutors in the institution. Throughout the study, I gained knowledge on sociology, which defines the basic functioning of the society. Sociology focuses on issues that affect people in the community. The study exposed me to the different ways of solving the issues such as championing for political action from the government among others. Social institutions that represent the government in the society have a responsibility of identifying the problems and helping the society through the offering of credible solutions.

More so, the course helped me in understanding the nature of groups and their mode of thinking. Therefore, I can understand the functioning of a group and the best way towards engaging the group in a meaningful discussion. The course was also instrumental in understanding political behavior. The general perception is that a political decision held by the majority is the desire of the whole population. However, this is not the case in many times. However, convincing the community for higher political support requires sufficient theoretical knowledge from the course. I can comfortably connect the course to the public sphere theory whose main concern is the well-being of the society and the use of political support in providing a solution to the challenges.

The very high number of theories in the course has been helpful in developing my thinking, broadening my understanding and improving my academic knowledge. After completion of the course, I will be in a position to apply the knowledge to practical use. I am confident of the knowledge gained and eager for a chance to apply the knowledge to a real-life scenario. As I compare my current skills with those at the beginning of the program, I can positively identify many improvements especially regarding identifying the problems affecting the society and discussing the issues with other people and developing a good strategy for a political action. Therefore, studying theory has been helpful to me in improving my thinking and growing my skills. Currently, I can talk confidently to a large group of people and discuss ideas cohesively for their support.
