Rationales are the fundamental reasons for the course of a principle — for example, ideas that have made us believe that social media ruins students. This was found from a case study carried out among twenty-two students from various universities across the world on Social media use and its harmful effects. The study researches were that students who spent much on social media have issues with understandings as they study without a real understanding material. Also from other studies, it showed that the Grade Point Average in the nineteen century was much higher than in this current years, this has apparently made us believe that social media has ruined students as it has negatively affected their personality at large. This paper seeks to discuss the reasons why it is thought that social media is ruining students.
In the early twentieth century, as social media were invented, the web became much personal which attracted many people. The nature and conditions of these links may differ from one site to another. Given that their imaginary, social media websites have involved millions of customers, many of whom incorporated their places on a daily basis practice. Currently, the biggest social network on the globe is Facebook. It started as a website incomplete to students of Harvard .
Only, however rapidly prolonged to more colleges in the Boston region, Ivy League schools, then eventually almost everyone is on Facebook. (Valenzuela 901)
The main intention of this genre is to recognize the adverse impacts of social media on students from the learners done on social media sites such as Facebook by some university scholars from Asia. The study gave adverse facts which were that Electronic message is sensitively satisfying, but the technological interruption impacts academic presentation. This is because of the common social media platform adopted by students; they waste a lot of time on facebook instead of studying. In this current world, social network sites are operating the career of students and the future. Social net sites were merely an electronic link among users; however, students are now affected by being addicted to it. ( Gil 319)
As much as social media has adverse effects on students, it also has benefits. Students nowadays need social media to be employed. In current years companies use social media to add jobs and look the history on the employer’s file. In Today’s institutions, students are uncovered to various technologies in many aspects of their lives. On a on a daily basis , they utilize computers, tablets, laptops, E-readers, cell phones and other electronic gadgets to connect in online learning aggressively, text messaging social networking, blogging and content sharing. (Price 70) This clearly shows that social media has more benefits on students compared to the ruining ones.
This generation relies much on the net and spends most of their time on social media sites such as MySpace, Twitter, Face book and Google Plus. This is the reason why college, university students and other teens use it mainly to get worldwide access.
In conclusion, social media has both positive and negative impacts among students. The genre used here has been well discussed and comparisons are made. Therefore when social media is handled well, it has many benefits.
