Racial Stratification
Racial stratification is the classification of citizens into groups depending on their race. It plays an important role in keeping certain people from living normal lives, resulting in imbalances in the population and country at large in terms of opportunities. While bigotry has sparked increased outrage from a number of organizations and legislatures, the trend is far from over (Finnigan, 2014). Several efforts are being organized to bring an end to these activities. Nonetheless, derogatory segregation acts persist in numerous ways. Similarly, racial inequality takes many forms, regardless of anti-racism movements. Hence, racial stratification is perceived as a moving target since it spreads to different aspects of society. For instance, racial stratification has moved from slavery to modern-day discrimination at work places and other social institutions.
Gender Inequality
Gender inequality refers to the element that the masculine and their feminine counterparts are not equal. It incorporates the unfair treatment subjected to a group of people due to their sexual category. The difference is attributable to the gender roles performed by people in the society (Long, 2017). Just as racial stratification, campaigns against gender inequality exist for a relatively extended period of time. However, the sexual discrimination practices continue to occur in the society. Both the racial stratification and the gender inequality remain despite the campaigns held against them. For instance, they have barred certain people from enjoying certain privileges at the workplace, social forums, and other benefits. Gender inequality and ethnic stratification play a significant role in determining the individuals who have an opportunity to ascribe to certain benefits or status leaving the neglected parties to languish in poverty and disarray (Long, 2017).
