Disney World Adventure
Disney world is the place of interest for any child. After seeing the park on the television for many years, my interest in the adventurous resort grew immensely. However, my dad had a busy schedule, which impeded our plans to visit the site. After much nagging and pushing, my parents agreed to take me to the park on the New Year's Eve. My heartbeat increased with each passing day as I anticipated the enjoyment of the big day. As expected, a child of six years cannot be able to sleep a day before such an anticipated moment. Any time I fell asleep the fears of waking up late motivated me to stay up rather than risk. No efforts from my parents to get me to bed worked. At precisely 6 am, I was knocking on the door to my parent's room.
The Journey Begins
The determination in my eyes pushed them to wake up. From my knowledge of geography, I understood that Florida was a long distance from home. We took a few hours to get ready and commence the journey. I wore my best clad from top to bottom. My shoes enjoyed the comfort of white snickers synonymous with the basketball players. The shoes matched with the Gucci sweatpants of my favorite color, blue. On top of it all, I wore a white cap with blue stripes, which completed my exemplary looks. In the previous days, I was always the one delaying my parents. However, the situation changed on this day. I could not understand why my parents took so long to get ready. Every minute seemed like a lifetime. I kept saying a silent prayer anytime the phone rang. I dreaded a call from work, which would make my dad change the plans.
The Park Entrance
We left the house at 9 am. I am not sure we traveled for how many hours since I fell asleep after a few hours of driving. When I woke up, we were at the entrance of the park with so many vehicles lining up in front of the gate. After making payments and getting a secure place to park the car, we entered the park. The location was wonderful. The red theme color reminded the visitors of the festive season ending. Christmas trees were many with colorful attachments emitting their light and making the whole place glow. Our first destination was the balloon flight. Although I was afraid of boarding the balloon, I decided to face my fears and join the other children. A big fire heated the air in the balloon, and we began rising slowly.
An Encounter with Wildlife
As we went higher, everything below us looked so small. I screamed at the top of my voice in jubilation. After approximately thirty minutes on the air, the balloon descended slowly back to the field. Secondly, we went to the animal orphanage where I saw the African elephants. The animals looked so big and scary. In class, we drew the animals in a simple form. In my mind, I imagined that the animals were the same size as the cows. The animals cultivated my interest in wild animals, and to this day, I still watch documentaries on the wide variety of animals on the African continent. It was exciting to see children of my age taking part in the same activities as me. It built my confidence in interacting with them, and I made many friends.
Delicious Food and Water Fun
At around 4 pm, I was too hungry to continue with the tour. Therefore, I accompanied my parents to the Castaway Creek. At this scenery, I joined other children in taking the water rides and playing at the lagoon. The hotels in the creek prepared a delicious meal for us. It had been a long while since I enjoyed a delicacy of chicken and chips made from the African menu. I vowed to go back to the park, if not for anything, the food. The lagoon water park had so many features to enjoy. My interest in swimming was the primary reason why I chose to take my meals in the creek. I needed to play with my age mates as my parents enjoyed their meals. At 6 pm, the weather became chilly. I joined my parents, and we went to the Cinderella castle for the New Year's performance.
A Night to Remember
The first performers were the acrobats. The professionals could balance on a thin rope and juggle three bottles while maintaining the balance. Secondly, we enjoyed some beautiful melodies from local entertainers from all types of music. A few minutes before midnight, the organizers unleashed an array of fireworks. The light emitted by the fireworks illuminated the whole park with the diverse colors. It was the most beautiful scenery I had seen my entire life. People from all lifestyles shouted at the top of their voices as they congratulated each other for the New Year. Shortly after ushering in the New Year, we embarked on the journey back home. The fatigue on my body could not allow me to stay awake. I fell asleep immediately we got back on the road; however, the day was worth every minute. When I woke up the next day, I found myself in my room in the comfort of my bed. To this day, I do not know how I got there.
