Introduction
There are so many confusing aspects between the various uses of histograms and bar charts, a bar chart for one is made of different columns that are plotted in a graph (Daly, "Bourke, 2008). Histograms on the other hand, just like the bar charts have their columns uniquely plotted in the graph, but in their case, there is usually no space in between the adjacent columns. It is important to put good use of bar charts in situations where there exist categorical variables, and this is cases where the X-axis does not mainly have a low end or a high end (Marsh, " Elliot, 2008).
Histograms and Their Uses
Histograms are primarily used when the group set is defined using the continuous quantitative variable, and this is when there is the discussion on skewness aspect, that talks of the tendency in the observations to fall towards the lower end of the higher end in the X-axis. Misleading graphs also define distorted graphs that misinterpret data, and this further constitutes the misuse of statistics (Bolker, 2008).
Potential Problems with Misleading Graphs
Some of the potential problems that may be brought about by misleading graphs include hindering the interpretation of data. There is also the component of excessive usage, and this is with the uses of the diagrams in particular areas that they may not be required, which may further lead to unnecessary confusion and further interpretation. What this means is that the more explanation a provided graph needs, the lesser the graph is needed.
Measuring Central Tendency and Graphics Methods
Mean, Median and Mode are each used in measuring the central tendency, the only difference comes with the type, where mean describes the average of the samples used, and median defines the middle value in the distribution, while mode looks at identifying a category in the distribution that occurs frequently. With regards to the graphics methods that are used to represent data, they merely range from the basic techniques that make use of Microsoft Excel to the much specific and sophisticated processes.
