Issues to address

It is crucial to engage with the client at this point because the project manager will find it challenging to save it. There are three options available to the manager: redistributing resources to make room for less expensive resources, reducing the project's scope, or requesting extra funds from the organization. They will sacrifice even more on the delivery date when they choose to reassign a lower-cost resource, but the project will be under the budget (Flyvbjerg, 2011).
If increasing the time scope of the project is not an option, the project manager should consider removing some items from the project. If the project manager decides to raise more funding for the project, it is essential to identify the requirement and the reason with the concerned stakeholders. The manager should have defined the potential spinoffs at the beginning of the project. Moreover, the project manager should ensure to keep in communication with the stakeholders all the time regardless of the situation.
As for the team members
The project manager should first ensure that the goals and objectives of the project are clear to every member. For the employee who has a poor performance record, the project manager should let them know of the problems they are causing to the advancement of the project. He should issue clear directives and clarify expectations. The manager should ensure to keep the monitoring the employees progress. If there are no changes, the project manager should consider eliminating the employee from the team because of the potential they have to derail the project.
For the employee who has been coming in late and who has divorce problems, the project manager should show empathy and offer to help them solve their work-related problems. The project manager should work on a personal-professional relationship with the employee and help him integrate into the broader project team (Cosmina-Simona et al, 2017).
As for most of the team taking vacations, the project manager should revisit the goals and objectives of the project and explain the importance of finishing the project within the estimated time scope. He should ask the team to call off the vacations and days off so that they can complete the project in time. They should indicate that the sooner they finish the project they can pick up their holidays and leave days. The project manager should call a meeting with the team where he communicates all the information as well as the impending crisis.
