The lesson on human sexuality was fascinating. Plato and Aristotle both taught me about relationships and sex. These two academics discussed how pleasure is obtained in human relationships. Their teachings have taught me the importance of paying close attention to sexuality and gender issues in society.
The Enigma of Human Sexuality
By discussing potentially painful topics, the enigma of human sexuality was effectively addressed. This is because an individual's love and sexuality are two separate issues that cannot be taken for granted in current society. These two are attractive persons, and some may find it awkward to discuss them in public.
Learning About Sexuality and Gender
At home, my parents are not free to discuss issues of reproduction. As such, I was able to learn about sexuality and gender from friends. This was done in hiding because these matters are considered very secretive in society. However, the classroom discussion created an opportunity to clearly comprehend the reproduction process of individuals in society. My parents indicated to me that boys should not interact freely with girls because there are repercussions of getting pregnant. On the other hand, my peers encouraged me to interact and establish relationships with other people of the opposite gender. This created a lot of confusion on relationship matters between boys and girls.
Understanding Gender and Love
Nevertheless, the discussion has assisted me to know the difference in gender, what love is, and how to appreciate people of the opposite gender. Such includes the essence of having great relationships and focusing on reproduction in society. Sexual humor kept the classroom lively, and I focus on ensuring that I practice and implement what I learned from this class in my personal life.
