Making someone learn something is a process especially when that person is learning that thing for the first time. Various steps needs to be undertaken to ensure understanding. It has to be frequently practiced just like a teacher reads the passage aloud and assign some vocabulary exercise. The exercise ensures a better understanding of what was being learned and at the same time enabling everything to stick in mind. Unlike when learning something for you, making someone understand that thing needs a thorough preparation for someone teaching. Teaching ELL students require steps which are easy to follow to ensure a quick understanding. As teaching might appear simple, it should not be taken lightly since when it comes to time to do so, it will be challenging.

These techniques involve modeling genre and explicit modeling concerning writing. Writing needs to be accompanied by reasoning. Critical thinking while writing makes that particular piece of work more enjoyable and relevant. Therefore, students who usually have a reflection while writing has higher chances of performing well. Also, the teachers who encourage students to be thoughtful does not usually have a hard time while teaching or explaining anything to them. Using reasoning or reflection alone might not work that much well, but combining it with a well-organized work will be very effective. To be more effective needs practicing with consistency.
