Most importantly, the legalization of marijuana will help researchers of the marijuana to be improved in the United States such that more beneficiary values can be delivered from its use for various treatments of diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (Monte 242). More information of marijuana can be available to those individuals that oppose it that valuable the use of marijuana as bad as research can easily prove that all the negative notions that smoking marijuana can easily be beneficial to the body proved if used in a regulated manner.
Succinctly, legalization of marijuana can be beneficial to the economy of United States as the regulated use of the drug will improve the economy of the country as many producers and consumers of the drug can be regulated in the market (Wilkinson 453). For instance, the state of California has realized revenue of over 4billion dollars from market transactions of the use of medical marijuana and can quickly rise of the coming years, and this has aided improve the income revenue enabling the government to cut its spending on incarnating people that are using marijuana in the country. It is important to note that the government can easily tax the medical marijuana through ensuring that its distribution in markets for consumption is regulated.
As aforementioned above, legalization of marijuana can be helpful to the society as it will ensure that more research is done on the drug, the government revenue will also increase and benefits of the marijuana is better than other drugs such as alcohol and cigarettes. Finally, legalization of marijuana can help reduce crime rates and free up resources that are directed to marijuana. The crime rates will drastically decrease as people can access marijuana freely and relieving the police officers the need to always look for users of marijuana in the society. Marijuana has a low risk of abuse than other drugs, and its legalization can help many people have access to it freely as opposed to viewed merely as a gateway drug in the society.
