According to traditional set up of most societies, men perform duties that are different to duties conducted by women. In most societies, men have the economic responsibility. That is, they provide for the family while the women care for the children. The society gender role functions influences the career choices of boys and girls. For instance, girls do not get into certain careers because it provides challenges that can only be handled by men. Gender role identifications influences who we become in the society.

This is a peer reviewed articles that explains the gender difference when it comes to harder competitions. The articles is based on a research that was conducted by John (2017) on number of school boys and girls based on the reactions that they exhibit when they are faced with harder competitions. The author explains that girls are likely to be reluctant when faced with hard competitions such as a math competition in class. That is, girls believe that they cannot compete favorably with men in difficult tasks such as mathematics. The experiment revealed that males have more competitive ability compared to females. The gender difference is a critical determinant in the activities that we undertake in the society. The outcome of the research is also revealed in a research conducted by Besselaar " Peter (2017). The research indicated that gender consideration lowers performance in competitive tasks.

On the other hand, the popular source in part 1 provides general information about the topic, the information is true but lacks expert backing. Besides, it does not have the incorporation of other research from other people in the same field. The article in part 2 is more reliable and contains valid information since it has a review of another expert analysis on the same topic. The article in part one may provide true information but the information is not verifiable, and has no expert input.
The articles have provided interesting information about gender difference and how it influences our choices and the decisions that we make. I know understand the role of society in determining the gender role as well as shaping the person that we become. People make decisions based on the expectations that the society demands of them (John, 2017). Nonetheless, I have learned that girls have low competitive ability compared to boys when subjected to difficult competitions (Perrone-McGovern, Wright, Howell " Barnum, 2014). Females think low of themselves concerning facing difficult challenges.
