Patients will be referred to specialist services for cases of less time-critical conditions. The services that will not be offered include dental problems, sexual health, repeat dressings, and prescriptions.
Arrival of the patient
Upon arrival at the urgent care center, the patient's name, date of birth, contact, and telephone contact details will be recorded. The information will be needed for the production of patient's statement card. The information provided to the care center will remain confidential. The patient will then be assessed by a senior nurse or doctor who may conduct referral for special treatment. When the patient is leaving the facility, he/she may be given a letter to give to the referring hospital with details about the injury as it helps in delivering a better service.
