The social problem that women are addressing is gender inequality and its devastating effects on women. Usually, women in various countries are still facing numerous barriers in the quest for social, economic and political emancipation. 3. Do you find their gender as being a barrier to their goals? Explain and provide examples.


Yes, gender is a significant obstacle in the attainment of their goals. Most of the women feel barred from pursuing some of their individual goals, particularly in areas perceived to be male-dominated (what stands in the way of women being equal to men? BBC News, 2014). For instance, women are not supposed to engage in some games or social activities especially past certain hours in the night.

Girls in the video are more equipped in countering the problematic social issues. Unlike other women in other countries, they are quite determined to break the stereotypical barriers that prevent them from achieving their dreams; for example, Lulu vows to fight for a rightful position in society regardless of her gender (what stands in the way of women being equal to men? BBC News, 2014). Some women are prepared to challenge the tradition that prevents them from leaving homestead after certain hours in the night.
