The data is too small to precisely come up with a conclusion that can be applied across the entire population. However the data does supports the null hypothesis that there’s no significant difference the variables. We use the null hypothesis so that we can try to disapprove it in the process of conducting the research after analysis of the data obtained.
Out of 26 females selected have a height of 155-163 and 9 out of 26 females have an arm span of 87-160. This comprises 38.5% and 34.6% of selected females being on the lower side of the height and arm span measurements. On the other hand, 12 out of 28 males have a height of 183-193 and 8 out of 28 have and arm span of 183-284. This comprises 42.9% and 28.6% of selected males being on the lower side of the height and arm span measurements. It is therefore logical to conclude that males have longer arm spans than females.
Age does not have a significant difference in body height/ arm span since these are traits governed by genetic constitution and level of nutrition. The data indicates that the measurements appear almost in a non-uniform pattern if sorted according to age from the youngest to the oldest.
If members of a single family are selected, the data would be biased since there may be genetic traits in the family that are not in the rest of the population especially if the genes are for extreme height and arm-span difference.
Errors in the measurements are mainly in the process of collecting and this may impact the research by giving skewed and inaccurate conclusions.
