The Bison in Yellowstone National Park
The above image is that of a bison. The animated picture above reflects on the plains bison in the Yellowstone National Park. Looking through the Yellowstone paintings, it is evident that the jangle is in turn gathered with less bison; viewed from the vast space stood by one animal. The artist from the painting had to pass a great message about the plains bison. The painting depicts on the demise of this North American icon; the prestige of the animal can be viewed clearly from the picture and thus help arouse the human concerns in protecting the animal. The painting as well displays the background of the Yellowstone in its winter look; this can be observed by the artist coloring techniques applied in the background setting of the picture.

Line: the artist in the paintings used symmetrical patterns with a keen eye for lining and colorations. Light: the artist used a two-dimensional painting technique. From the view of the drawn image, the source of light is situated on the right-hand-side of the picture. It is evident by the shadow appearing in the painting but stretching to the left-hand-side. The shadow created seems correct, and thus the source of light is natural.
Color: the paintings incorporated bright colors and gorgeous decorations. The use of colorful marble mosaics and murals creates a magnificent architectural scene. The predominant colors in the paints are brown, blue and black. The artist in use of colors was keen to the emphasis on the region of locality of the animated image which is Yellowstone, the blue coloring tells on the winter season prevailing while the black color is purposefully the appearance of the bison.
Texture: both fine and rough surfaces can be felt from the paintings. The animal appears to have a rough texture on the pictures moulded at the thick brown fur on the head and across the neck. The rest of the painting is given on a smooth surface. The soft texture accompanied by the art implies that the surrounding environment is much conducive to the creature in existence.

Value: there appear significant changes in value based on the degree of brightness. Some parts of the painting seem brighter than other regions. The artist wanted to contrast on the features upon the reflection.

Emphasis: the artist draws my attention in two separate areas. The painting catches the viewer's sight by the rounded beard and the chaps of long hair covering the forelegs. Also, the blue pictures seen at the far background on the paintings attracts much attention from the observer. At the said points, the artist creates a mental focus to emphasize that the drawn animal is the plain bison and not the wood bison. The background suggests the winter period while the picture was captured.
Scale and proportion:
the artwork is comprised of the standard size as compared to the real life of the drawn animal. The object in the specification is in the foreground and appeals to my expectations.
Balance: symmetrical balance is used in the drawings with a uniform artwork applied by the artist. The fantastic combination of the brighter colors and the less bright has correctly matched to give a beautiful decoration in the painting.
Rhythm: the paintings show a rhythmical string attached to it. For instance, there is a repetition of the symmetrical lining forming a regular rhythm in the drawing. The artist rhythm unifies the paintings giving it a prestigious look.
Unity and variety:
the drawing is well unified and cohesive, the artist keenly coordinates the principle elements to out show his/her perfection. The painting incorporates what is in the real jungle giving depth in the composition of the artwork and the component area it explores. The variety of art styles applied and how they match articulates the unity and diversity employed by the artist.
Pattern: a motif is used in the creating the painting of bison in the above picture. There is the repetition of the brown and blue coloration covering most parts of the drawings.
Media and Technique
The displayed object is in a two-dimension. Even though the painting looks embracing, it has some limitations attached to it. It is hard to view the other parts of the object since the dimensional is use cannot allow the artist could have applied a three-dimensional view to enabling analysis from both sides. The drawing is put in a silverpoint and the artist successfully controlled the stroke with the medium. The artwork used a fresco painting to give the first dry and excellent view of the images.
The Medium of the Artwork
Stylistic: the artist employs different styles in painting the artwork. The images appear with simplicity and decency. However, the artist keenly derives from the method by correctly choosing the colors to apply in the drawings. In fact, the much underlying sentiment that displays the image depicts on the idea behind the bison during the winter conveys the artwork complete. Biographical and Gender studies:
the artist biography to my opinion cannot help in interpreting the artwork. I think the artist’s state of mind can have contributed to realizing such a magnificent painting. The joy of thought over the looks of the bison might have positively added for the artist to paint the above image. The feminist role in the artwork is not relevant since the drawing does not deal with the gender-based issues. The artist is not commenting on the part of women in the society neither can an individual tell on the gender of the artist by observing the paintings.
In conclusion, individuals can understand the work better if they had a bit of its historical background, its religious, economic condition, social issues and political status that influenced its creation.
