Inherited or Created Homosexuality
In the last few decades, it has become contagious that homosexuality is hereditary or created. New research reveals that homosexuality can be genetic. First, lesbians and gays claim even before they may be conscious of sexual attraction, that they have something else to do. This shows that homosexuality may be more inborn than created. In the dictatorship of the sexuality of a person, biological factors play a crucial role. Several studies of twin brothers have, for example, showed that 52% of the cases of one brother being gay and the other homosexual. Primarily, this is much than the distribution of 2% to 10% of gay population recorded through various sex surveys.
The Role of Hormones in Sexual Orientation
Furthermore, Rahman and Wilson in their research indicate that another determinant of sexual orientation is the exposure to hormones during pregnancy. The research suggests that there are differences between straight and gay people on several physiological traits associated with hormonal influences. Moreover, these differences include finger lengths, penis size, the age of puberty, brain structure, physique, and hearing.
The Influence of Genes and Hormones
Moreover, this evidence is convincing but not entirely so. Primarily if genes determine the sexual orientation of people then in the case of identical twins where one is gay then the other one should also be gay. This leads to the conclusion that hormones and genes may predispose an individual to a certain sexual orientation primarily they do not determine it. Moreover, they are crucial influences but not the sole cause. Other factors, that affect the sexual orientation of an individual include peer pressure, social expectation, and cultural values.
