There are a number of changes that are needed in this organization, which highly affects the elderly individuals. For example, these population needs nutritional interventions especially due to the fact that the individuals are old, and don’t have feeding mechanisms such as teeth. In addition, nursing care is needed, especially due to the numerous old-related health conditions which this population is susceptible to. In addition, positive health behaviors such as regular but slow body exercises are also needed in this facility.
The change theory that I will apply
In order to address the issues above, I will use nested theory of change, which is also known as the theory of reach. I have selected this theory since it is one of the best when it comes to addressing or calling for messy interventions (Mayne, 2015). The theory is important when a particular group of beneficiary is targeted, which is the case with the Cross Senior Care organization. In addition, there are numerous processes and causal links that are associated with this theory. For example, some of the processes that are involved are not limited to reach assumptions, capacity change assumptions and behavior change assumptions. Moreover, causal links that are involved in this theory serves as bridges between the individuals who is providing help, the processes involved, the targeted individuals and the anticipated goals.
The manner in which I will apply the theory. I will apply this theory in a number of ways. First, I will apply the theory in recruiting more and more elderly individuals in the villages and bring them to the Cross Senior Care. Precisely, I will embrace the use of reach assumption in order to educate and sensitive community members concerning the importance of taking the elderly individuals into the Cross Senior Care facility. By so doing, most individuals who might be having negative perceptions concerning this facility may start developing positive attitudes. In addition, I will use this theory to enhance capacity change assumption. Precisely, I will use the theory to seek support from politicians, leaders, well-wishers, non-governmental organizations, faith-based institutions ad mobilize them to join me in supporting the services that are being offered in this facility, as well as assisting in the implementation of the immediate needs that I highlighted above (Lewin, 1951). In addition, I will also use this theory to educate individuals concerning the benefits that are associated with Cross Senior Care.
Ethical principles, issues, or challenges that might arise during the process of applying these changes. I think I am likely to encounter a number of challenges during the process of implementing these changes. For example, change is not always positive especially to those who are affected, and this means that most of the elderly individuals in this facility may be against some of the changes that I am intending to implement. For example, when it comes to performing physical exercises, most of them will not be comfortable with it. In addition, financial challenges are also likely to arise.
How professional code of ethics may help. The code of ethics may help in addressing some of these ethical issues. For example, I will serve all seniors without any discrimination that is based on gender, race, or age (National Association of Social Workers, 2008). In addition, I will adhere to the established rules and regulations of the Cross Senior Care in order to implemented the changes effectively.
