Antimonarchical Sermon

My friends and I would react favorably to the minister's sermon denouncing the monarchy's idolatry and ungodliness. However, because there may be skirmishes, we would be more cautious and seek protection. Priests from Geneva have been instrumental in advancing Protestantism. It would be our responsibility as Huguenots to uphold their beliefs. It would be a smart move to defuse religious tensions and gain a competitive edge; we would encourage more people to join our cause. Although the Christian religion emphasizes love and peace, there are instances in which peace cannot be maintained and retaliation is the only option. In light of this, the Catholic beliefs are stringent, and they cannot tolerate any political or religious opposition. The monarchy would be likely to assassinate the minister and unleash terror to suppress the Huguenots. Therefore, my friends and I would uphold our conviction by preparing both physically and mentally.

The rise of Huguenots and the growing approval for iconoclasm would be unavoidable. The Huguenots movement was initiated around 1550, and by 1562 it had approximately two million adherents. Many Huguenot leaders in Guiteme would feel inspired by the minister and, thus, openly display their faith. My friends and I would utilize this opportunity as the best chance to win more followers for the Huguenots and rise against the longtime monarchy. Consequently, the monarchy would launch more hostility as a maneuver to induce fear. We would acknowledge the idea of the realm applying violence on Huguenots as an indicator that the movement has a considerable impact. This evidence would prompt the Huguenot to create political and military teams to enhance the drive for their goals. The outcome would be more violence, deaths, and destruction of property. Besides, previous chaos has considerably diminished trust between the Huguenots and the monarchy. As a result, we would need to be vigilant of possible attacks as well as strategize on how to liberate ourselves from the ancient ungodly doctrines.
