There are ideally no limits within the province of the mind as to what one can achieve if they set their heart towards accomplishing it. However, we often find ourselves confined within the limits of our creation which we must transcend if we are to initiate and sustain desired behavior changes. Starting and maintaining positive behavior changes usually is a daunting enterprise, albeit a crucial one. One such positive behavior that I am keen on executing is studying more often in college. While this may seem like a plain sailing target, it indeed demands a strong will to become more committed in your studies and motivated to learn while overcoming procrastination and bridling acceptance of the status quo.
The need to study hard is easily perceived and understood, certainly, making the whole idea feel as if it is just a hackneyed phrase. Nevertheless, the process of initiating such a positive behavior change is deep-rooted in positive thinking about the need to study hard in school which offers the basis for self-motivation that can sustain a long-lasting behavior change. Therefore, besides using positive affirmations to convince myself that I can succeed at school and achieve my goals, lately, I plan ahead to allow more time for assignments and exam revision which has allowed me to give myself enough time to study instead of waiting to thrive on the last-minute cramming. I have also made a self-initiative of reviewing my notes every day after school guided by my study schedule and the goals I outlined in each study schedule. These and other healthy study habits that I am keen on continuing to execute will indeed help me to succeed academically.
