The site introduces its visitors to Jeremy Birn's new "Third Edition of Digital Lighting and Rendering" which is an improvement of the books published in 2000 and 2006; it is exciting and irresistible because it brings new insights to digital lighting and rendering since it offers professional scene lighting and rendering applications (Birn, 2014).
The website provides an update to lighting challenges in science fiction, natural history, film noir, model downloads, and lighthouse (Birn, 2014). From the Website's design, one learns that people will always prefer clarity to design, because people often visit websites with a goal of finding ways to benefit from the site.
Pearsonified-com
At the first glance of the Pearsonified-com, a graphic design website, it is not clear what the website is about, what it offers its visitors, and how its visitors can benefit from it (Ng, "Schofield, 2017). However, the website avails a new GRT calculator that enables the discovery of the best typography by the use of content width, current font, and font size.
The website further illustrates to its visitors how they go through their daily routine through the Elon Musk and Joe Rogan's Interview, which is broken down into a 12-parts easily digestible series (Ng, "Schofield, 2017). Though the website offers its visitors a chance to receive free emails by subscribing to its site, it lacks a lead capture form that would convince a visitor to subscribe to the website's free emails.
AIGA.com
The AIGA.com is a website designed for the professional association of designers. The website's design is friendly to the visitors because even a first-time visitor can easily tell what the site is all about because of its tailored design that allows simple marketing of its products (Greek, 2014). The contents of the magazines are exciting, and they quickly capture a visitors attention due to their clear display on the website's main page, for instance, one learns that the site contains articles such as "Design Matters with Debbie Millman: Paul Sahre."
From the website, one learns that he/she can connect to AIGA through press releases, AIGA's official social media sites, student groups, and AIGA.org, its official blog (Greek, 2014). One thing the website's visitor can bring from the site is the importance of keeping things "simple stupid".
Websites from Different Industries
Websites that belong to other industries such as digital arts and design as FS have several similarities and differences with the graphic design's sites (Pelli, 2017). For instance, the techcrunch.com and the technative.com websites are cloud technology websites whose design and method of marketing their products is different from the graphic design websites. For example, the cloud technology websites give much information about their latest news and current products at a glance, unlike the graphic design websites where one has to open several pages to find out information about the website's new products and news (Buyya, Yeo, Venugopal, Broberg, "Brandic, 2016). However, the graphic design websites are similar to the cloud technology websites in that they both invest in a design that is very colorful and therefore easily captures the attention of their visitors. The sites from both industries offer their visitors a chance to connect and follow them in social media (Buyya, Yeo, Venugopal, Broberg, "Brandic, 2016).
Importance of Converting Visitors to Customers
After viewing websites from both industries, one learns the importance of a site to have the ability to convert its visitors to customers by informing them about its services and products, what it will do for the visitor, and offering the visitor a way forward as fast as possible to convert the visitors into customers. The cloud technology websites presented their information in a better manner as compared to the graphic design websites because they availed all the sufficient and necessary information to a visitor at a fast glance in a simple and unique way (Pelli, 2017).
