Individuals and Creative Vision


Individuals that have a creative vision of everything feel the desire to survive. Even in circumstances of excessive conformity and the establishment of a sham identity, one must allow for the possibility that a person's capacity for creative existence can never be completely destroyed. There is a concealed life somewhere that is suitable since it is unique or creative to that individual (Winnicott 92).


The Creative Impulse


Compared to this is a connection to an external certainty that is one of conformity, the world, and its particulars being acknowledged as only something that can be fixed in with or challenging adaptation. The creative impulse is something that can be looked as something essential for an artist to create a piece of art. The creative impulse is something that is present when anybody (adult, child, adolescent, baby, old man or old woman) looks in a healthy manner at something or does anything knowingly. For instance, it may involve acts like messing with feces or lengthening the act of crying to take pleasure in a musical sound (Winnicott 92).


The Presence of Creative Impulse


It is present as much in the moment by moment living of a backward child enjoying breathing as it is in the motivation of a designer who unexpectedly knows what it is which he wishes to design. And who is reasoning with regards to material that can, in fact, be used so that it can make his creative impulse take form and shape for the world to observe (Winnicott 92).


Living Creatively and the Meaning of Life

The Influence of the Environment


It is found that people live creatively and have the feeling that life is worth living or else that they can never experience living creatively and are full of doubt about the importance of being. This variable in humans is related directly to the quantity and quality of provisions of the environment at the onset or in the early stages of the living experience of each baby (Winnicott 93).


The Role of the Environment in Creativity


While every attempt is made in describing the psychological condition of the individual and the vibrant process of defense organization and development, and to incorporate desire and drive with regards to the person, at this point where creativity develops or does not develop, the theoretician must take the environment into account (Winnicott 96). It appears crucial to refer to a unique impediment that takes place as a result of the fact that even though men and women have a lot in common, they are nonetheless also different. Clearly, creativity is among the common denominators, one of the things which men and women have in common, or they share suffering at the absence or loss of living creatively (Winnicott 96).

When symbolism is engaged, a child apparently differentiates between fact and fantasy, between external objects and internal objects, between observation and primary creativity. Transitional object gives room for the progression of gaining the ability to accept similarity and difference. Symbolism describes the child's passage from the solely subjective to objective, and so it seems that the transitional object is what is seen as the progression towards experiencing (Winnicott 8).


The Nature of Symbolism


It could be likely to comprehend a transitional object while not grasping the nature of symbolism fully. It appears that analogy can be studied appropriately in the process of the growth of a person and that it can be looked at as a variable meaning at the very best. The wafer of the Sacrament can be used as an example which is symbolic of the body of Jesus. For the Roman Catholic community, it is the body whereas for the Protestant church it is only a reminder, an alternate, and is fundamentally not, as a matter of fact, really the body itself, even though in both instances it is a symbol (Winnicott 8).


The Role of Transitional Objects


Transitional object and transitional phenomena fit into the dominion of fantasy which is at the beginning of instigation of experience. The early phase of a child development is accomplished by the mother's unique ability in adapting to her child's needs, therefore enabling the child the fantasy that what the child builds actually exists (Winnicott 19).
