An idol
An idol is a figure or picture that people worship as gods. They may be made of metal, stone or wood. They are usually representations of gods that are supposed to make people happy or better.
The word idol comes from the Old French idole for “pagan god,” through the Greek eidolon, meaning “reflection in water or a mirror.” It is also used to refer to people who are considered to be famous, like rock stars, scientists or writers. For example, a statue of Madame Curie is an idol for aspiring scientists and Flannery O’Connor is the idol of many Southern writers.
American Idol
Idol is also a term for a singing contest, such as American Idol. The show employs a panel of judges who critique the performances of the contestants. The original judges were record producer and music manager Randy Jackson, singer Paula Abdul and music executive and manager Simon Cowell.
American Idol is a television program that began in 1996 and has since become one of the most popular shows on television. It has become a worldwide phenomenon and has spawned a number of spinoffs. The show is based on Pop Idol, which had previously been a British TV show.

Idol is a synonym for teen idol, a type of celebrity who young fans treat with excessive admiration and devotion. They may be called stans or tyros.
Idols in Christianity
In Christianity, the word idol is also used to describe Jesus Christ as an image of the invisible God. While it is an odd concept to call Jesus an idol, Jesus was a real person who came to reveal God to man.
This concept of worshipping an image of the invisible God is a very important one, and the Bible clearly prohibits idolatry. Idols are not the real God, and they are not even the best way to represent God.
The only Idol that is a true image of the God of Israel is Jesus Christ, who was incarnate and came to live among us. He was the only one who could fully satisfy our deepest longings and needs, and His perfect life was a model for all of us.
Golden Idols in a game
Unlike other treasures in the game, a Golden Idol can be found throughout most of the caves, and these are typically guarded by elaborate traps that can be activated on hair-trigger notice. If a player manages to grab an Idol and move it to the level exit or sell it to a Shop, they will earn a monetary reward.
There are numerous variants of Idols in the caves, with some being much easier to collect than others. Some Idols are only guarded by one or two Forcefields, while others have more than that. In addition, they are usually protected by Spark Traps and UFOs that can make securing an Idol a much more difficult task.
