Weight has become quite a sensitive and relevant issue in today's society because it directly affects one's health and social life. Being obese has negative impacts on the named fronts (Goodpaster et al., 2010), and this prompts a number of people into a schedule that aimed at weight reduction. Before this realization dawned on me, my life used to revolve around a heavy daily intake of junk food and a near sedentary life with no physical activity until it reached a point that I could not take it anymore. White meat was more preferred, and low-calorie dairy products became my diet. I also included a lot of healthy drinks which included a lot of water and home prepared juice. This also meant that alcohol was eliminated from my diet plan while caffeine-containing beverages were at minimum (Goodpaster et al., 2010). In addition to eating healthy, I also worked on being in a good mood all the time. According to research, anxiety and foul moods trigger the frequency of food intake. The food was a source of comfort while all the sugar was meant to alleviate all the negative emotions that would build up. Getting Active: Embracing Physical Activities


Alongside the healthy diet, I stopped being a lazy bum and started getting involved in physical activities. Research shows that physical activity contributes much to weight loss (Goodpaster et al., 2010). I volunteered to fetch my younger siblings from school a walk of approximately twenty minutes. In the mornings I assisted in the house chores which involved moving around a lot, and I also went to the market also a walking distance and these activities jumpstarted my active lifestyle. I also joined the school's ladies football team and this involved a lot of field play a couple with physical exercising.
