The LGBT Community: Unified Under the Rainbow

LGBT Community Demanding Equal Rights and Social Acknowledgment

LGBT community has been currently fighting and struggling creating most media headlines protesting for equal rights and social acknowledgment of their existence. Without an alarm, the community which is composed of children, brothers, as well as friends, feels threatened by the neighbors and mothers due to their sexuality either as lesbians, gay, bisexual and transgender (Snapp et al, pg.420).

The Importance of Acceptance and Support for the LGBT Community

Although society continues to accept this group, there is still shedding of large amounts of judgment towards this group. However, the question that most people in the society should be asking themselves instead of being arrogant and aggressive towards this community is the exactly is it that the LGBT community demands? Whereas embracing old views and religious beliefs greatly help in shaping the society, accepting and aiding in their upbringings as well as supporting the LGBT groups would be advantageous than rejecting and totally diminishing them, a matter that does not reduce their population but instead continuously increasing it in the society (Klein, Augustus " Golub, pg. 194).

The Natural Development of Different Sexual Orientations

Development of a different sexual orientation among various individuals is greatly associated with the natural and biological development of the individual which is beyond human control. Getting attracted to a different preferred sex forms the basis of the LGBT community, therefore, implying that the society being led by parents should greatly support its family members in this minority group (Dentato, pg. 326). It is clear that rejection, as done by various stakeholders responsibility in the society to its own family members in various communities has created more harm than good since members end up isolating themselves from their families a factor that has leads to family breaks and numerous problems in families. Accepting that the emergence of LGBT community is beyond human control like other minor communities but establishment of appropriate paradigm to accommodate and community will greatly help societal deformities being witnessed today (Subhrajit, pg. 317). Therefore acceptance rather than rejection, management and proper impression of the LGBT community in the society will greatly help in solving the problem and accommodation of various members in the LGBT community in the society today.

The Impact of Rejection on Homelessness and Criminal Activities

Most cities today have been packed to brim by hopeless individuals and street children who form a significant part of the LGBT community. The largest part of individuals that form parts of these homeless groups are those who are part and parcel of the LGBT community that who seem to be escaping from the real world full of rejection, prejudice, discrimination and judgmental (Subhrajit, pg. 315).These cases have increased as a result how different the outside world perceives the lgbt issue implying that failure to acknowledge and accept the existence of these particular group is the major cause such societal deformities. It is clear that as individuals are rejected due to their expression of having a different sexual orientation hence opt to engage in disastrous activities in an attempt to save themselves from this condition making them slaves. Since the condition is permanent unless appropriate measures are taken to reverse the condition, it results in increase of the homelessness due to lack of parental or family care as well the feeling of being underestimated thus resolve to engagement in criminal activities that continue ruining the society instead of curing it (Dentato, pg. 328). Therefore total rejection but impacts negatively to the whole society with regards to the LGBT community as a result of more focus often placed on the stereotypical aspects.

Equal Treatment and the Freedom for Individuals

In modern times where countries have constitutions, freedom for religion and the tendency of being independent which generally implies that individuals are free to make decisions which will not create a negative external to his or her neighbor indirectly means individuals have the right to choose whom to relate to and how to relate to. This similarly implies that any individual who is a member of the LGBT community should have freedom and be treated equally in society, accessing equal economic resources and living a normal life (Subhrajit, pg. 319). Perhaps parents and other parties that play part in rejecting of individuals whore are their family members have little knowledge on the meaning of freedom which makes them be constraint by knowing that it implies that freedom is to enhance righteousness and not evil regardless of if it does not affect other parties in their environment. Today this is contrary whereby the LGBT has been designated in specific areas and parts of the country away from the normal society. This creates various divisions in the society whereby development of negative attitudes towards the society as well unequal resource distribution exists in the normal society that upholds religious beliefs that discourage existence of the LGBT community. In addition to that, there have been many cases of discrimination directed to the LGBT community with regards to access to employment opportunities, education and acquisition of other social amenities (Subhrajit, pg. 320). This hinders economic development as well as unity in the entire society due to the existence of divisions and failure of the community to take part in the building of the society.

The Importance of Acceptance and Support in Saving Lives

Finally, the society needs to fully accept and support LGBT community since most of these individuals upon rejection end up suffering to the extent of attempting to commit suicide, a phenomenon that is highly discouraged by the same religion that denounces and refutes the existence of this community (Klein, Augustus " Golub, pg. 199). The general ideology of religion and independence as depicted in the constitution as ensuring the world is a better place for the human race. As the religion anticipates that the entire role of any parent is to ensure that life preservation and saving life is upheld, proper care of such youths who have different sexual preference should not make their parents disown them. Furthermore, religion should play a role in the rehabilitation of such individual especially the youth to try and resolve the issue rather than completely rejecting the victims to live miserable lives that are simply contradicting to religion itself. Rejection subjects the victims to various lives threatening occasions such mental illness as a result of loneliness and lack of support from close relative. It is true that sexual orientation and gender identity are crucial aspects that completely define human nature thus should be never impressed by rejection, discrimination or abuse(Snapp et al, pg.427).. Therefore efforts should be challenged towards saving lives of individual especially the youth who seem to possess a different sexual orientation.

The Balancing Act: Acceptance and its Potential Negative Effects

However total acceptance of the LGBT community and free interaction in the society brings along various negative effects to both the family and the nation at large. With the existence of the LGBT community, the entire social strata are often affected negatively in the essence that the religious nature that is always the foundation of a morally upright society is ruined (Klein, Augustus " Golub, pg. 199). This is alongside those hard times the families and parent will have to undergo upon embarrassment alongside societal mockery and prejudice. In addition to that this great interferers with the group of generation and growing children who are likely to be influenced by the existence of such members having different sexual preferences that are different from those of majority family members. This greatly implies that acceptance of this group will lead to the collapse of the entire human race’s social relations and interaction. Therefore it would be more convenient for the establishment of various designated areas for location and settlement of this community to avoid negative influence to the general society consisting of individuals having an appropriate and similar sexual preference which is necessary for a proper moral orientation of the incoming generations(Snapp et al, pg.429). However, these conflicting claims do not outweigh the benefits that any society will gain from the acceptance of the LGBT community in the society upholding equal rights.

Conclusion

With existence equal rights to the LGBT community, the society stands at a high chance of benefiting from actions and contribution from these groups in the development of the entire society. This is because among the many reasons why the society continues to incur deformities such as the homelessness, increased individuals with mental disabilities and high crime rates, is the existence of rejected LGBT youth who have failed to value themselves in life. This is majorly caused by rejection and failure of parents in the understanding of the existence of different sexual orientation among the people. Another reason for acceptance is due to the advocacy of many constitutions on the freedom of individuals which is not supposed to cause an externality to the country. However, full acceptance of this minority group may impose negative effects to the society especially to the morality of the incoming generation especially when parents accept these particular victims who are their sons in their families. Therefore acceptance will help contain and improve the lives of these community through established of equal rights.
