In the Gospel of Matthew
Jesus says that He is the King of heaven, and that He will rule over all creation. He will separate the righteous from the unrighteous, and He will be the source of blessing. In other places in the New Testament, the phrase is translated as the kingdom of God. If you believe in this, the Kingdom of Heaven is not so far away. It is just a matter of time before you arrive there.
God is the King of heaven
The Old Testament's king is referred to as "Yahweh," meaning 'the King of heaven.' In the Bible, this title is applied to God the Father, but is also a common term for kings. King of heaven refers to God the Father, but it is also used to refer to Nebuchadnezzar and Artaxerxes, who used the phrase to express their absolute sovereignty over their realms.
He will rule over all creation
After the fall of Adam and Eve, God promised to bring about a righteous human leader. There are numerous prophecies about this future ruler throughout the Old Testament. Genesis 3:15 reveals that alien offspring will crush the head of Satan, destroy all his works, and usher in the rule of God. The idea is that this ruler will rule over all creation in the kingdom of heaven.
He will separate righteous from unrighteous
The New Testament tells us that Jesus will separate the righteous from the unrighteous in the kingdom of heaven. He will do this by revealing the true nature of God and Satan. The kingdom of heaven is the place where the righteous will be rewarded, and the unrighteous will be cast out. Jesus will be the king of the kingdom of heaven, so all the righteous will be rewarded.
He will be the source of blessing
In the Bible, you will see that God is the creator of all things. This is why the world exists and human beings were created. All of God's creation was blessed, including humans. The Bible describes the blessings we receive as the result of following Him. We are blessed when we bless others, ourselves, and God's creation. In the Bible, we also see blessings given to those who follow God and bless other people.
He will be the source of peace
The phrase "Kingdom of heaven" is a common theme in Matthew's gospel. It refers to the rule of Jesus Christ in heaven and the doing of God's will on earth. The phrase is also a term of sensitivity to Jewish readers. The word "heaven" is highly holy to Jews, so Matthew avoids using it. Rather, he uses the phrase out of respect for his readers.
