Writing skills and their importance
Writing is one way of passing over messages from one person to another. Individuals' writing skills determine whether they can understand the various parts of written communication. Some of the factors that contribute to a person's success during the writing process include the use of proper spelling, correct sentence structure, and accurate punctuation. Currently, I have mastered most writing basics although I am not still efficient because I still face a few challenges, which if addressed will make me the best writer.
The process of becoming a better writer
I have the skills of writing well, which facilitate the accuracy and reliability of the content I anticipate to convey to my audience. Before I could understand the procedure of conveying an effective written message, I did not know the importance of brainstorming or drafting. After seeking consultation from friends and focusing interesting on the requirements of good writing in grammar classes and online educational material, I started accepting the process of brainstorming, drafting, and revising to generate informative and presentable pieces of written work. Additionally, I used my experience of translating sports news in composing correct grammar texts. Indeed, my experience and education contributed to my writing skills positively.
Variation in writing projects
When dealing with different writing projects, there is always a variation in the way I present them. Precisely, I tend to write class essays quickly with a free flow of ideas, but when dealing with reports and term papers, I frequently find it challenging to write logically without researching and brainstorming. Although there is a difference in the process of writing, it does affect the overall outcome of my finished work.
Motivation and environmental factors
I have a motivational problem when it comes to writing. When I read articles showing how writing is a career, they motivate me to write correctly and quickly. Sometimes, I might look up for the autobiographies of famous writers to understand the motivation behind their works of art that led them into compiling thousands of pages of content within a short while. Such information assists me to write very well as I aim to attain their levels of success at one time in the future. However, when I hear friends talking badly about writing and how homework demands much of their time, the conversation forces me to push ahead my work so as to focus on other issues. Thus, my environment and company could be factors that are preventing me from writing the best.
Inspiration and strategies
Apparently, proper writing requires inspiration, motive, and strategies. Personally, I find joy and happiness in writing because my mother always encourages me to speak English. She used to teach me the procedure of writing good stories in English. She also inspires me to have her clear strategies for achieving my objectives. My mother mostly liked to inspire me to continue with the work of translating sports news because it improved my level of writings as taught by Carpenter (1). By following her instructions, I have realized drastic perfections in my writing skills.
Improving confidence through practice
My continued practice of writing essays has improved my confidence in expressing messages in written form. Although I am good at writing articles, I still encounter a few challenges when writing very long papers. However, the problem is minor, and I will soon overcome it by practicing daily.
Conclusion
Overall, writing skills vary from one person to another. Some people require motivation to write, while others enjoy it as can be told from the happiness they express at the time of writing. Personally, I had challenges translating my thoughts to a piece of paper in English, but the education I obtained from this course has uplifted me to the next level. Nowadays, I am more confident in presenting information in written form.
