It is often straightforward for every new psychology students to think that every research question is asked and that its answer is nothing but the truth. What often psychologists do when they are working on research is that they formulate an issue and try to answer the question with an experiment. An experiment is the only research method in psychology that allows the experimenter to conclude effect and cause. The test will often start with a hypothesis which states a relationship between two variables. For instance, a psychologist may want to research breastfeeding in the mother-child relation he may formulate a hypothesis like –children will bond more with their parents if breastfed. The variable to this research is the bond created between the child and the mother.
Not all the research is created equally and for this reason, there are many ways to find out if research is reliable, a good one and one that can be trusted (Bordens " Abbott, 2014). One way of finding the right answers is to use a journal that has excellent peer review for all surrendered manuscripts. One of the renowned journals that I have seen helpful is the International Journal of MCH and AIDS of 2017 by Amutah-Onukagha et al. This research is useful in academic studies due to its deals with the progress and challenges of utilizing Traditional Birth Attendants (TBA) in Nigeria. This research article is a highly refereed one. When selecting research articles, it is crucial to find out if a journal is a refereed or a non-refereed one. Refereed journals are those that are reviewed by other researchers and who are skilled in the same field and can state the effect of the journal on the audience. A non-refereed is one that does not have the reviews from other researchers and less trusted compared to the reviewed one (Borden's " Abbott, 2014).
The Editor's Decision
Another advantage of the MCH and AIDS Journal is that an Institutional Review Board approves it. The author declares that there are no conflicts of interest and the publication was wholly or partially supported by the Global Health and Education Projects (GHEP). The impact of the journal to the readers is to educate on the need to integrate traditional birth attendants into a correct training program that can advance maternal health results (Gounder " Chaisson, 2012). This will mean minimized deaths and disease preventions during childbirth.
Age and Attention
The experiment by a psychologist will often start with a hypothesis which states a relationship between two variables, for instance, Age and Attention, if we are to conduct the experiment on the variables of age and attention. The assumption that we can formulate would be such as Ageing comes along with decreased Attention. In other words, the younger the person, the higher the desire for attention this was explained by Sigmund Freud in his personality theory (Borden's " Abbott, 2014). The attention behavior is more in the identity or personality.
Conclusion
The most important factor to consider when choosing a research article to use for academic studies should be its references status. It should be research supported by other researchers. Time is also a very valuable to consider if it is available. The international journal of MCH AND AIDS is a reliable one since it meets the research qualifications as suggested by the author.
