At the end of the cold war, there was increased volatility of the economy within the country. Therefore, the emergence of the political movement out of the framework of territorial states suggests the importance of considering the territoriality of the states within the historical context (Agnew, 1994). Therefore, the conventional perception relies more on three geographical assumptions such as states as the fixed unit of the sovereign space, foreign polarity and lastly states considered as the container of the society that has resulted into the territorial trap.
However, about Trump's speech of the UNGA, the assumption of state a fixed unit of sovereign space is observed when he mentioned how the country had forged a better relationship with countries such as North Korea with the key aim of replacing conflict with peace. Secondly, the assumption of foreign polarity can be seen when Trump explains about the idea of requesting many nations to isolate Iran regime because of the violent (Foreign policy, 2018). This is with the key aim of protecting people and preventing war from occurring in the country. Finally, is the assumption that State regarded to be the container of the society, which reinforces the overall power or authority of the territorial state as the primal force hence everything is subordinate to the state. It can be seen when Trump explains how the United States of America is regarded to be the world’s biggest provider for many countries (Foreign policy, 2018). On the other hand, few countries do provide anything for the country. As a result, the country is taking necessary measures about providing the US. Foreign assistance
Conclusively, Trump speech has demonstrated various initiatives the country has taken towards improving its economy. Furthermore, USA has taken essential measures in protecting the country.
