Psychology is a very wide field and it entails studying the mind of an individual or animal and learning their behaviours. The emergence of psychology was a result of many philosophers putting together their research. Some of them include Aristotle and Plato who came up with theories of how having excess blood in the body would affect people’s behaviours and they insisted on the importance of being mentally healthy (Larsen et al., 2017). Psychologists try to explain why individuals behave the way they do, what they feel and think. They analyse all influential factors including social and biological which we discuss in this paper.

Grit and Students’ Self-Regulated Learning

This paper explains how students’ self-regulated learning is related to grit and how they perform in school. After investigating two hundred and thirteen campus students, it is evident that the personality of an individual affects how they perform in school. This is a psychological fact. Seven factors were noted as determinants of how students performed in the past and the present. The most important factor is persevering and putting effort. Students with this traits perform better than others (Wolters " Hussain, 2015). Another important factor is having consistent interest in what they are studying. To predict previous achievements, the writers used effort perseverance to predict past performance but not the future. Students who are who motivated themselves had better academic results than the rest.

Media Influence in Politics

The media is a very powerful tool in influencing political decisions and opinions. This paper shows how the media can stir up political discussion from individuals. The type of media used influences the sex, age and political side of an individual who will participate in a political discussion (Ponder " Haridakis, 2015). Using traditional means will influence the more elderly individuals while using modern media will reach a lot of young individuals. This is psychological because young people want to be associated with modern trends while elderly people use traditional media. This helps to interpret this humans behaviours.

Contributions and Limitations

Over recent years, the science of psychology has grown and expanded in many ways. This trend can be predicted for the future of psychology as new issues keep arising. It has contributed greatly on improving mental health of individuals since their feelings and opinions can be interpreted. Individuals who show signs of causing self-harm and those who are suicidal have been helped through psychology. Many individuals are able to maintain a healthy mental lifestyle by the help of psychologists. This field has many limitations as many problems arise during its research. Some researchers contend if psychology is really a science. The information from psychological research does not extend to the future hence they cannot be relied on for a long time. Psychology is used to predict people’s behaviours but this is not guaranteed. Individuals are rational and they can change their behaviours or feelings in relation to their current circumstances (Larsen et al., 2017).

Future problems

Drastic changes in social life and technology will force psychologist to re-evaluate methods they are currently using to fulfil their mission by using psychology to improve health and welfare people in future. There are three categories of challenges associated with societal and technological changes that have now become predominantly evident. First, accelerating demise of psychiatry, there is due to it being viewed as of less significance (Psychiatr Clin North Am. 2009). Second, increasing patterns and means of providing services over substantial distances by automated means for example telepsychology which needs attention by the fact that there is no face to face communication. Finally, a psychologist must analyze ethical responsibilities to individuals, to groups, and to society at large since psychologist influence on working behind the scenes as "invisible" psychologists grow faster with time and therefore, losing their real obligations expected from them by the society

Conclusion

Psychology involves so many issues since it’s a very broad sector and is not just about mental health. It is important for people to be mentally healthy so that they can go about their daily activities well. Psychologists aim to understand how people feel, what they think and can explain why they behave the way they do. Psychology is important because how individuals behave is attributed to various situations and circumstances.
