The policy under the consideration is intersectionality in evaluation of policy impacts on health equity. The policy analysis discusses the socio-economic position that is related with the health inequalities and policies. The dimensions of social and health inequalities as illustrated in the policy paper are interlinked with the power relations that constitute the policy(Caiola, Docherty, Relf, " Barroso, 2014). Hence, this paper indicates that design policies that impact the health inequalities and raise the concern for intersectionality that shows one dimensional population health. From the understanding of the policy analysis, it is noted that this policy impact illustrate the power structure effects that not only construct the policies but also promotes the inequalities through intersectionality. The concept of intersectionality indicate towards the inequalities based on race, gender, sexuality and class as the central nature of social experiences that leads to the false classification of people. The concept of intersectionality is associated with the policy paper because it deals with the specific acts and policies of inequalities. This intersectionality allows the policy paper to go beyond the one dimensional or additive policy. Through the understanding of intersectionality, the health inequalities and its impact can be thoroughly understood.
Problem, Population impact and Context
Under the analysis of problem, population, impact and context, the question is mostly raised that why intersectionality is important in the health equality and policy analysis. The answer to such question lies in the understanding that political, economic, environmental and health crisis are related with the policy problems that challenges all levels of operations. The awareness on the policy in those aspects leads to examination of adequacy of information that is fully explored and determined under the policy analysis(Gideon, 2016). The central argument that could be bring from the policy analysis on intersectionality and health inequalities is that accurate approach to health policy is only available through proper assessments that reveals the diversity of population and including their identifying aspects and priorities. Intersectionality binds the focused tool on the specific impact assessment tool that captures the decision making processes and policy outcomes. The intersectionality policy brings the paradigm shift in the root cause and context of health and social problem through focusing on complex areas. Gender specific and social determinants of intersectionality shape the health inequalities and its impact of population.
Values discussion
From the understanding of the policy paper, it should be noted that the policy analysis doesn’t reflect the political values in California however; social values are reflected in the paper. The policy paper indicate the social context where the intersectionality takes socio-economic position and generates the debate on the health inequalities and systematic errors on decisions that further lead to insensitivity and change in social value of people. The understanding of the gender and social class in the health policy through the complex issue of intersectionality will allow the policy to build new concerns and issues on the other discrimination. The political values are missing in this paper.
Summary
The intersectionality and health inequalities are interrelated with each other(Baurer, 2014)(Caiola, Docherty, Relf, " Barroso, 2014). The concept of intersectionality brings forth the analysis on the inequalities either it is based on race, class, gender or any other factor. The health inequality is only understood from the point of intersectionality and its impact on health policies for the people(Hankivsky, et al., 2014). The social inequalities and intertwined mechanism of inequalities explores the health concern in the policy design.
