Health Plan's Assessment of Physician Quality Practice Data
Health plans are able to assess physician quality practice data, and this establishes the foundation for quality service improvement within health centers. This can be done by analyzing administrative and enrollment statistics along with health plan evaluations. Results of a doctor's accepted quality measures can be analyzed using administrative data obtained from health programs. The amount of patients who were qualified for a measure and were treated by the doctor can also be used to gauge how well a doctor practices medicine. Methods for allocating patients may also have an impact on how well the doctor treating them performs their duties. (Melanson, 2017).
Improving Physician's Rank within a Medical Center
Physician’s level of performance measures can be used in improving his or her rank within a medical center. The strategies may include the use of a cross-sectional analysis which encompasses electronic health record data for patients. This analysis is able to evaluate the number of patients who the physician was able to handle and record the number of patients who were cured. Secondly, the level of service delivery by the physician to the patients also affects the physician’s profiling. This is evident in the way people suffering from various diseases such as congestive heart failure turn up to seek for medical attention from the physician. A considerable number of patients are a proof of good service delivery by the physician (Baron, 2017).
Physician's Proficiency with Health Equipment
Lastly, the ability of a physician to be conversant with the use of health equipment may also make him or her become considered in handling complicated diseases such as cancer. This enhances the physician’s quality report card effectively (Gupta, 2017). Certain diseases require well trained personnel to handle as there are sophisticated operating gadgets such as scanners used during radiotherapy.
