Introduction
Medical imaging is important in medicine, and the future of medicine is in Radiology, which is why I want to be a medical imaging technologist. The fascination of how photographs are made has always piqued my interest; photography and radiography have fascinated me, so I decided to pursue a bachelor's degree in radiology. I learned about all medical imaging modalities during my five years of undergraduate research. For me, the most interesting classes were nuclear medicine courses; I've always wanted to learn more about these innovative cameras. Nuclear Medicine, in my opinion, is one of the most advanced disciplines, and it will continue to evolve. Through all the nuclear medicine departments that I have been exposed to, I have always enjoyed discovering the hot lab. I was impressed by radiopharmaceutical preparation and safety maintenance. These work areas taught me the need to be capable of dealing with different challenging situations.
Internship and Volunteer Experience
Most of my internship year was spent in a Nuclear Medicine department where I looked forward to each day as there was always something new to learn. However, I believe I there was still more to do. Therefore, I worked as a volunteer during the summer to gain more knowledge and experience in the nuclear medicine department. I got the chance to attended radiation protection and safety workshop in the first and largest radiology department in my country, and I saw a section of a Cyclotron and radioactive pharmaceuticals. It was a very great experience; it helped me a lot in understanding all the process.
Skills and Ambition
I believe working at Nuclear medicine departments require strong communication skills, sympathy, hope and problem-solving capabilities. During my studying and later working with qualified radiologists and technologists, I had the opportunity to develop these skills. Furthermore, my published graduation research also helped me improve my skills and ambition.
Impact of Nuclear Medicine on Oncology
As Nuclear medicine is directly related to Oncology, this was also one of my driving elements for studying nuclear medicine as it helps in cancer diagnosis. I have seen many people suffering from this disease including my mother who was one a cancer victim. Though she was a great fighter, she lost. That is why I want to play a part in helping cancer patients.
Conclusion
I'm a hard-working person that loves teamwork, I was raised in a family that loves education and has always supported my education and career choice such that I gained my Bachelor's degree with honor. I am glad that I was awarded a master degree scholarship from my government and I want to take full advantage of it by applying to [University Name].
