This book examines some of the origins of the Revolutionary War. It goes on to describe how the activities occurred as well as the participants. The British levied tariffs on a variety of commodities, which irritated the Americans. It was time to protest and bring an end to British colonial oppression. The Boston Tea Party was formed; as a means of resistance, members of the Boston Tea Party threw the tea that was being transported to America. This book provides very comprehensive literature review on the Revolutionary War that can be very useful in the project. Kline and Pavao elaborate some of the possible reasons that led to the Revolutionary War; they discuss the approach used by the tea party to end the taxation by the colonist. When the largest tea shipment arrived in Boston, the Tea party had clear intentions; either to prevent the cargo from being offloaded or secure the citizens from the collection of taxes. The members convened a meeting and decided to hijack the ships and throw all the cargo into the sea. The credibility of the information in this source cannot be doubted because the events are supported by the dates they occurred, pictures, and additional references. Moreover, it contains vivid background information about the Boston Tea Party, and its impact in the Revolutionary War. Schlesinger, Arthur Meier. "Political mobs and the American Revolution, 1765-1776." Proceedings of the American Philosophical Society 99, no. 4 (1955): 244-250. The article by Schlesinger portrays some of the actions of political parties that fueled the American Revolution; the Boston Tea Party is one of the parties discussed in the piece. The Tea Party members brought a turn of events when they protested against the taxation on tea by destroying the shipment. In so doing, the colonists heard their cry and reduced the taxes. However, several Acts were also formulated to control the duties; of them were opposed whereas others were supported by the parties. This article contains substantial literature on the involvement of the political parties in the Revolutionary War, and the role they played. Thus, it is very appropriate for this project.
