A good technology system enhances employees’ performance, making them more productive. In the case of Company X, there are almost 10000 users of IT system. The company has a headquarters, nine branches, and many sales and marking employees who travel to many places. The traveling agents and nine outlets require efficient access to company files and share information with remote users. Remote access and ease of deployment are the roles and features of Windows Server 2012 that make it a robust IT solution for Company X while minimizing the expenses.
Remote Access
The nine branches and traveling agents of Company X require accessing the company’s server as remote users to enable access and sharing of files. Windows Server 2012 make this possible. Windows Server 2012 has Remote Web Access (RWA) and My Server app compatible with Windows Phones and computers (Rankins et al. 51). With RWA, remote users do not need to configure VPN client software on their devices. All that is required is logging in to a web-based interface that works well with many devices such as laptops and smartphones (Stanek 13). This implies that remote users can easily share and access the company’s files while they are far. My Server App allows IT administrators manage the system remotely using laptops and tablets.
Ease of Deployment
Windows Server 2012 has a simple deployment design. It can be installed efficiently on devices with 1.3 GHz processors with 2 GB of RAM (Stanek 11). In essence, the hardware requirements of Windows Server 2012 are not complicated. Computers compatible with this system are cheap on the market. This makes the installation and maintenance of the system affordable and would provide Company X with an ideal IT solution at a low cost.
