These rules were further applied in the categorization of the other words.
In the categorization of the two groups of words, the notion of some activities, objects, stereotypes and heroic deeds being associated with a certain gender was used. This was in line with the general and wider views from most of the societies in the world where English is widely accepted. However, recent social reforms and the emphasis on gender equality are slowly crushing the stereotypes that have been intact for a long time. For example, the modern informed society holds the belief that women and men can accomplish similar success given the means. This has seen the rise of ideologies such as feminism. This dynamic society that is gradually transforming people through shaping their thoughts might result to triggering a reconsideration of which category the words like history, elephant, and sky should be placed. However, a person born in a patriarchal society where success is mostly associated with men would have the words in the category that they appear. Despite the fight for equality, visual images and stereotypes will remain suppressed in the minds of people, often expressed when a need arises hence favoritism, prejudice, and discrimination. This goes hand in hand with classifying words in a given gender category even if the English language' rules do not have such provisions.
