What are two (2) possible consequences for a Practitioner breaching their duty of care with the client?
Legal action can be taken against the practitioner where he/she is charged with breach of duty of care. At the same time, the practitioner may lose his/her membership in the medical association groups.
Question 2
List three (3) practical steps you will take to ensure effective hygiene practices in your clinic:
(i). Appropriate and regular cleaning of the clinic and its facilities, for example the physical structures and equipment used in patients.
(ii). Also,adequate training of staff members on importance and emphasis on hygiene.(iii).Nevertheless, adopting some policies like hand-washing and diagnosing infections that can be present in the clinic and its environment can ensure effective hygiene.

Explain how poor hygiene increases health risk with respect to indirect mode of transmission and portals of entry.
Poor toilet sanitation can lead to outbreak of cholera and other deadly diseases that may interfere with the lives of people.

What does the term “client-centered health care” mean to you?
A client-centered health care is medical system where the clients are responded to promptly respond to healthcare requirements as dictated or advised. At the same time the clients are involved in the decision making process on all issues affecting them in the system.

How would you personally approach the task of identifying areas for improvement in the workplace? Include three (3) ideas in your response.
Conducting surveys on the progress of the organization as this would help track the current issues in the organization and areas that need to be improved.
Interviewing employees to solicit ideas and monitor their satisfaction will help reveal the condition of the work place. Through this, the management can identify areas for improvement.
Reviewing clients’ and employees’ complaints through analysis of incident reports and the oral feedbacks from them.

Briefly discuss two (2) ideas for enhancing sustainability in the workplace.
Sustainability is achieved through proper waste disposal mechanisms including recycling. Also, ensuring green procurement practices such as purchasing from proved sources together with using energy saving processes. Moreover, focusing on quality through deploying quality improvement tools will ensure sustainability.

A needle stick injury has been sustained by one of your staff members. List the steps you will take (in order) to manage this workplace incident. Include steps that consider the needs of the worker and the business.

It creates equality in dealing with all matters affecting the society. Anti-discrimination legislation also creates fairness and gender equality because everyone has equal provisions of the law.

Imagine you are designing materials to train and support staff to manage workplace emergencies. What are two (2) key points you would stress to staff?
Responding to natural calamities in the workplace like tornados and floods. Also, safety rescuing procedures should be included to minimize the risk of injury in such cases.

How do well developed policies and procedures assist a business?
Creation of responsive systems that can adhere to all clients’ requirements. At the same time, such systems allow provision of efficient and effective services.
Question 13
Discuss the key differences in the terms and conditions of employment for full time staff members and subcontractors. Include at least three (3) points of difference in total.
Full time employees are covered by the company’s liability insurance while contractors usually have their own liability insurance. Also, full time are paid automatically without issuing an invoice for the work they have done while on the other hand subcontractors have to provide an invoice for the work they have completed. Moreover, full time staff is entitled to receiving the requirements for national minimum wage while subcontractors are only entitled to wages proportional to the work they have done.

What constitutes an “ethical dilemma”? Please provide one (1) practical example which may arise in a healthcare environment.
Ethical dilemma in a workplace constitutes many issues like receiving gifts, involuntary commitment, commission of illegal acts, and incompetence amongst peers. For example, staff member notes incompetence in a fellow health care team member and struggles to speak it up or even stays silent. In this case, they may feel the behavior should be reported since it may threaten the patients’ safety but reluctant to do so because that will worsen inadequate staffing.

What does the term “mandatory reporting” refer to?
Mandatory reporting is Australian legislative requirement that gives selected groups of individuals to report cases of child neglect and abuse to government authorities.
Question 16
What does the term “informed consent” refer to from a healthcare perspective?
Informed consent is the process by which a patient is informed and trained about the purpose, benefits and potential risks of a medical or surgical intervention such as clinical trials and after that agrees to get the treatment and take part in the trial.
Question 17
Briefly define the ethical principles of “Autonomy” and “Justice”.
The concept of autonomy requires patients to have independent intention and actions when making decisions. The principle of justice holds that the benefits or burdens of experimental or new treatments should be shared equally to members of a given community.

It is imperative that client rights are protected in the healthcare environment. Please list two (2) examples of client rights.
(i)Confidentiality; patients’ private information should not be disclosed to other parties.(ii)Another right is ‘informed consent’ where the patient must be fully informed about the benefits and potential risk of a certain medical procedure before he is subjected to it.

Apologizing gracefully and then assuring them of future improvement on the same service. Also, one should use good listening skills and then find a solution for the complaining customer.

What steps would you take if you discovered a colleague had breached the clinic’s code of ethics?
Discussing with the colleague and advising him/her on the importance of compliance with codes of ethics. However, if it something that can be detrimental to the organization, I will report them to the supervisor.

What are two (2) functions of the professional association in the Australian natural therapies industry?
The association supports statutory registration of natural therapists and at the same time, acts an advocate for every discipline or field accredited by the association.

It can help to recognize and continue good practice, challenge practices that are not taken seriously and to know exactly when to find information or support from other individuals.

Responding promptly to clients’ complaints through offering additional support and alternatives to the issues they are reporting. Also having in place a client-centered system that provides quality services and high customer service will bring satisfaction to them.
