Jesuits - A Society within the Roman Catholic Church
Jesuits is a society within the Roman Catholic Church that was founded by Ignatius of Loyola and instituted by Pope Paul III with the purpose of propagating the Catholic faith. This is done through abiding to chastity, obedience to Christ and Pope and poverty. Christian humanism believe in humane values including dignity and freedom as well as the Christian faith.
Human Beings and Their Dignity
Pope Francis explains that human beings at times become self-centered, which results in greed but later resolve to turn back and do good and maintain their dignity. This is a privilege granted to humans by God and it is a right that shows Christian humanism. Ecological education in families offered by political institutions and Christian societies gives individuals the respect for the environment and life. The Pope acknowledges the will of the people to overcome individualism in helping others to establish a better world for everyone to enjoy. Sacrifices are some of the most tempting deeds that a Christian can do in order to benefit another person. This includes self-denial and having a caring heart as an ideology in Christian humanism.
Jesuit Spirituality and Christian Humanism
Jesuit spirituality comes to connect the Christian humanism in the presence or absence of laws. It is the duty that helps us protect the ones we care and love, including our environment. The call for obedience to Christ demands that we do well to others as we wish they could do to us and thus demonstrate the love and expression of dignity.
The Teachings of the Gospel and Jesuit Spirituality
The teachings of the Gospel has impacted on our daily lives in actions, thinking, and speech by the teachings in the doctrine. It is the presence of the spiritual nourish in the doctrine that changes our lifestyle towards the protection of the world around us. The spirit that thrives amidst us is a gift from God that helps us to discern between the right and wrong and often reminds us of the gospel according to the doctrine. As a Jesuit, the spirit in us will create in us the heart to live in accordance with the Christ teachings.
Spiritualism and the Bridge to God
Spiritualism is also recorded in the Jesuit guide to almost everything as a bridge that connects people with God. The different nature of individuals does not obscure the purpose for the connection to God. This spiritualism is inherited from forefathers in spirituality and often shows concern for the care and protection of our environment. It is said to have originated from Ignatius and therefore the title Ignatius spirituality which means "finding God in all things."
Ignatius Spirituality - Finding God in All Aspects of Life
Ignatius Spirituality includes all aspects of life including charity work, religion, sex, and money. It is centered on seeking for God wherever He can be found and in all ways. Dedicate some time for prayer to think about the spiritual life, even in workplaces as God is omnipresent. The Pope says that sacrificing some time to protect God’s work is an added virtue. Ignatius spirituality is also geared towards freedom and finding joy while making good decisions. In Christian humanism, we realize that doing well to others helps maintain our dignity.
The Freedom to Do Good
The freedom we are given as humans should be used to do good and not the self-centered actions. In writing the constitution, Ignatius worked on spiritual exercise and they are said to be experienced and are different. He maintained flexibility in the set rules of life. Both the Pope and Ignatius focused on spiritualism through prayer and acting in a humane manner as a Christian in service delivery to others. This reflects the life of a Jesuit.
