About Religious Fundamentalist

The modern globe is concentrating on strengthening globalization through "free market capitalism," which integrates markets, technology, and more nations (Saha & Thomas 2010, p.98). Although the goal of this essay is to tear down national barriers and make the world a smaller place, there are social, cultural, political, and religious spheres that have had a negative impact on this goal. In this essay, we'll talk about the main effects of religious fundamentalism on globalization.
Fundamentalists contend that customs, religion, and culture serve as a person's anchor in an orderly and significant universe. Social identity theory suggests that human beings are inclined to a social division as “insider” or “outsider” that helps to reduce their uncertainty or defend their self-esteem from a superior competing group. As a result, Self-esteem tends to develop when an individual perceives the social group he or she is affiliated with as superior to other social groups (Frey 2007, p.34). This leads to homogenization of social norms and values through globalization, thus becoming a great threat to the distinctiveness of each nation, religion, and culture. In addition, this develops their own self-worth and self-identity. On the other hand, the relationship between information and technology and other conservative practices such as religion is always seen as antithetical. Although, there has development in terms of local and global networks, the significance of traditional religious still exists around the world and in cyber culture (Aten, Jamie et.al 2010, n.p). Although, people perceive cyber culture as a threat to fundamentalist communities, on the other hand, it has the power to intensify their cohesiveness. However, self-esteem appears to be more reasonable since most individuals turn to religion in order to restore self-identity. International bodies such as UN should not allow religious discrimination by ensuring that various religious law adheres to international law. Race and gender discrimination have been solved and the same efforts should be applied in religious freedom (Swanson 2005, p. 68).
