Emerging trends show that websites are an important element and the most recent frontier for companies to thrive. A good website must comply with four main elements in order to help its parent business succeed. The following are:
Accessibility: How mobile and disabled users can access the site
Experience – How appropriate for users is the website
Marketing – the website's successful and popular
Technology – How well the website has been planned
I was tasked with evaluating websites of four competing companies and give a review. To achieve this objective, I first identified the companies to use. I picked technology companies with a focus in mobile phone manufacturing because of their wide current usage and purchasing trends. When people search for online information, the probability that they will be interested in what is on offer will largely depend on these factors. Website owners must strive to attract and retain online visitors for longer. This will increase the likelihood of them making a purchase. In this review, I singled out four websites that belong to some of the giant mobile phone manufacturers. I have listed them here in no particular order. www.samsung.com (Samsung)www.motorola.com (Motorola)www.apple.com (Apple)www.huawei.com (Huawei)I used the website analysis tool found at nibbler.silktide.com to visit each website and assess each of the elements listed using a variety of assessment tools. All data was valid as at the time of analysis. The maximum overall rating was gotten by averaging the scores of all the four measurable variables: Accessibility, Experience, Marketing and Technology. The overall scores were as follows: Motorola – 9.0, Apple – 8.5, Samsung – 8.5 and Huawei – 7.8. This analysis revealed the most effective website as that of Motorola with a score of 9.0. This was because of its high scores in all the areas tested with 8.8 for accessibility, user experience at 9.8, 9.7 for marketing and 7.8 for technology ("Website Report For Www.Motorola.Com"). The least effective site was that of Huawei with an overall score of 7.8. The website scored poorly in most criteria with 7.4 for accessibility, 8.8 for experience, 8.7 for marketing and 6.4 for technology ("Website Report For Www.Huawei.Com"). The other two websites score equally.I recommend that Huawei works their website to make it more effective. They might even gain a larger market share through higher sales as people might stay long enough to make a purchase on their website. It will also help this firm compare better with others offering the same service.I will be glad to discuss these finding further when called upon and follow any guidance given.YourName Initials (Erase this and write in ink)CC: InstructorsName Attachment: Website Analysis TableWebsite Analysis Table Criteria WebsiteAccessibilityExperienceMarketingTechnologyOverall Score www.moto.com8.89.89.77.89.0www.samsung.com8.09.99.96.98.5www.apple.com9.07.77.08.08.5www.huawei.com7.48.88.76.47.8References"Website Report For Www.Apple.Com".
