There are some fascinating stock market videos on the CNBC website. The majority of them provide useful information on how specific stocks are doing in the industry.
The first video: McDonald's 2016 Third Quarter Performance
The first one, which I considered fascinating, features Morningstar senior analyst R.J. Hottovy reviewing McDonald's 2016 third-quarter performance. The corporation reported $6.424 billion in sales and $1.50 per share in earnings (Hottovy, 2016). This was a boost from the same time last year. According to the expert, the change is due to the service the firm has been providing to consumers. As can be shown, commodity consistency has a major effect on sales and EPS.
The second video: Confidence in Apple Stock
In the second video, Ben Schachter discusses the increased confidence people had in the Apple stock in September last year (Schachter, 2016). The performance of iPhone 7 in the market is what contributed to the increased confidence in Apple stock. In September last year, the company's stock price had hit a 9-month high. This shows that if a flagship product of a company performs well, then, stock prices can increase.
Valuation Techniques: Determining Stocks to Invest In
Valuation techniques help a lot when determining the stocks to invest in. If I have money to invest on a recurring basis, I will find a technique that works best for the type of company I would invest in. For bigger companies, for example, I would use Discounted Cash Flow.
Question 2: Growth of the Casino Industry
The growth of casino industry in the recent past is phenomenal. I think the major reason behind this growth of casino industry is an increase in disposable income. As people's disposable income increase, so does their ability to spend on gaming. In addition, legalization of casinos has also played a role.
